  2. I am an African American female and got my hair highlighted and boy did it come out!! Has anyone else experienced this?
  3. I am very nervous as Thanksgiving approaches. I and thankful for so many things including "my band". Let me make a long story short. My family has no knowlege of how I am loosing so much weight (56 pounds--Yes!!). The only thing I have shared with them is that I have changed my eating habits and is exercising. They are not supportive and I KNEW I had to make a change. Nevertheless, I am going home for a week with lots of food, fun and company, but I am SO nervous. Please provide some insight.
  4. I feel the same way you do and have been in this place before. I go back and review my food journal and do what I was doing to loose the weight. That have meant nothing but protein for 2 weeks or strickly veggies. Remember to drink, drink, drink. Hope this helps.
  5. I experience the same thing and I try to eat long before a meeting. You so right... it is loud and embrassing.
  6. Hi! Justs a quick note. Place your comments/Question in the link that says "Marchies in October". You will get tons of feedback.

  8. Thanks-- I don't think that I hit that spot and I had a fill today.
  9. I am about to have my 4th fill and the doctor says that this may possibly be my last... ok, so what's next? Am I completely finished with "fills" ? Please provide me some insight.
  10. Have anyone tried bellydancing? I hear it is a great form of exercise and I am considering trying it.
  11. I guess that I was a bit different. I did not tell anyone except my supervisor. I had a surgery on Friday and went back to work on Monday. I told my co-workers that I have choosen a new life which includes eating better and exercising. On a different note, my family does not even know. They did not support me in this decision so they, too, think it is food portion and exercise. Thank goodness I have been able to gain support from this resource and some friends. On the other hand, I hope to someday be able to tell my family-- besides the surgery is over and I look and feel good.
  12. I know how you feel. Let me suggest that you journal your intake and maybe this can help you see what you are eating.
  13. Wow! One of the most difficult things for me to do is practice discipline. Although you can eat these things, try really hard not too. Remember this is a tool. You can do it!!!
  14. I was told that my meal should fit into a 1/4 cup. That's not much but I think that is about right. The key to this is drinking Water all day. Janice
  15. Welcome! I am still new here myself. I have found so much support and help here. As a matter of fact, it is better than my local support group. It appears to me that you can ask any question and get many, many replies.
  16. I had to step back to do those things that I did to lose weight. Journal my food, 1 week of liquid diet, exercise and not weigh myself. I guess it will soon make a difference.
  17. To avoid additional stress, I don't weigh myself but once a week. As a matter of fact, the scale is out of sight until then.
  18. Seems like Dr. T has a fan club and don't even know it. :clap2: He did my surgery as well. I have found him to be most helpful. The surgeon and his staff makes all the difference. I hope that you find a friendly reception at WLSC just as I did. Best wishes, Janice
  19. I didn't see my last post, so here it is again. I was banded on March 3, 2006 and have only lost 29 pounds so far. I am SOOO frustrated. I am sick of people saying hang in there. Seemingly they have not been in my shoes so they really don't know how I am feeling. I need hear "hang in there" from someone who is feeling like me. Here's my vote for the start of a group that feels like me. so, "Hang in there" Janice
  20. At least 1-2 pounds per week. I think. Someone correct me, If this is not true.
  21. I was wondering if anybody felt like me? I have lost only 29 pounds since March 3, 2007. Can I PLEASE join?
