  1. It's soo nerve racking but I'm prying for you! I wish you the best of luck. Thy havent submitted them yet because I have to go sep 15 to be sure the h-pilory is gone then they will submit them. I can't tell you how many times I've called the insurance company to make sure they cover it lol. I have no co morbids but my bmi is 50. They say it's covered but you know how strict that company can be. How come you have to go twice to the quack?
  2. Thnk you for the advice. I have researched I am just so nervous they will deny me. That's soo wonderful to hear! Thank u soo much. I was required to do 4 months nutrition appointments was it the same for you?? I found out I had h-pilori after my endoscopy so I have to wait till sept 15 after that I will have to wait for the insurance approval. That's the only thing that scares me is getting denied.
  3. I'm from Rhode Island and the medical I have is neighborhood Health plan. Does anyone else have this insurance and were you or were you not covered?
  4. Yes!! That is what I am also struggling with. I ate so much yesterday that I woke up full still. I am so disappointed in myself. I am relieved to hear that I'm not the only one goin through this struggle.
  5. I third that notion. Being denied is by far my biggest fear.
  6. My "enough" moment was when I went to the amusement park with my kids and got on a ride with them and didn't fit. So embarrassing my my kids that they had to get off because their mom was too big. This year my oldest said "mom can we try the rides again?" And it broke my heart to say "no honey mommy don't fit" that was my breaking point. I can't wait to be healthy for myself and my children. I'm looking forward to fitting on those rides and having fun with my babies
  7. I too have told no one I'm gettin it because I'm surrounded by the same group of people who don't understand what it's like to be in my skin. Only close family and my husband of course know of this important decision in my life. I lost a bunch of weight in the past an sadly gaine most of it back so I will tell everyone that I followed the same routine as before. Strict diet and exercise... Overall it's not a lie lol
  8. Just had mines last week too but I was put under, didn't know a thing. Woke up feeling like myself just very sleepy. I got a call today that I have the bacteria on my stomach which causes ulcers so I now have to take 3 different antibiotics for two whole weeks to clear that up and take a blood test in 6 weeks to be sure it is gone, then I finally get my date and of course must wait for approval from my insurance. In sure the wait is well worth it for a healthy future, a healthy life!
  9. Saw your new post you are fantastic! Rocking your sleeve girl!! Thanks for the input. I'm not sure as to why I have these three different meds but I will take them and hopefully they do the job. You're doing well honey
  10. Sonia. Did they put you on three different anti-biotics? Did this clear the infection up?
  11. You're gorgeous and so inspiring! I too cannot wait to do all those wonderful things with myself children again
  12. Thank you for the advice. I think you're right. I start taking my anti-biotics tomorrow. Fingers crossed that they work!
  13. Hey y'all. I went for my endoscopy last week and my surgeon just called and said A scope came back positive from my endoscopy for a bacteria into stomach that causes ulcers. She put me on an antibiotic for two straight weeks and six weeks later I'm scheduled to take a blood test just to ensure that the infection is gone. I'm worried this will be a stall for me. Has this happened to anyone or does anyone know of anyone this has happened to?? What was the outcome for you/them if so? Please help!!!! Missy
  14. Welcome. I'm pretty new to this site to. You will find so many helpful tips. Everyone on here is very nice and understanding. This is a decision you make in life that not everyone supports or understands. On here you can be open and honest about everything. When is your date if you don't mind me asking?
  15. Goooo you!! So so inspiring! You look wonderful!
  16. I'm unsure of where that is exactly but I'm sure it'snot too far from here. This site is great to have so much support from and people who share the same story if not very similar. Keeping positive is the absolute best thing I can do. I am very excited because I too looked into this many years ago but my doctor wouldn't sign off on it which to me just meant it wasn't my time. Now that things are going as they should I'm hoping this is the best decision. I feel so that it is. Can't wait for this journey to begin.
  17. Also my doctor wrote about hypertension and diabetes runnin in my family in hoping that's a good enough reason for me not to mention my bmi. I did call te insurance company myself this am and they said that with the bmi and drs note I should be fine
  18. I'm going to stop worrying and put it in gods hands. I want this so badly. I have my fingers crossed. Where about in Massachusetts are you? So happy you're covered! You start your amazing journey very soon and i wish you the best!!
  19. Do you mind me asking which insurance plan you have? How was surgery for you? How much weight have you lost?
  20. Susan thank you so much. My surgeon is also confident that the medical insurance will covert the surgery and she says if not she will push harder to get it because I definitely qualify with a bmi of 50.
  21. Hi Suzy. I'm not too sure how your insurance works but I myself am still waiting for approval. I haven't had to pay for anything out of pocket and my medical has covered all the test required prior the surgery. I have two more nutrition appointments to go and I am golden for a date. I'm so excited. I've never wanted anything mor for myself in my entire life.
  22. Thanks sweetie. I have looked at the requirements so many times that I know the page word for word lol. I'm just so excited about the surgery that I don't want to be let down by the denial. It does say that they cover if the bmi is 40 and over with no co-morbids so that is reassuring.
  23. Hey all. I was wondering does anyone have united health care? (Neighborhood health plan) and if so were they covered with no health issues just a very high bmi?
  24. Thanks for the website I will look into that. My journey has begun like this my Heath insurance requires me to visit with a nutritionist 4 times. I had my first visit before the weight loss seminar. So tht knocked one visit out. After the seminar I met with the surgeon and she gave me a "to do" list. I had to schedule 3 more visits to the nutritionist which aug 6 is my third visit, she scheduled me for an endoscopy, which I had three days ago, I had my psych eval last week as well. I have to keep food logs on my fitness pal for the nutritionist. The longest thing for me are the nutrition visits because they can only be scheduled one month apart so my last will be the beginning of September and I should get my date of surgery
  25. I am a newbie as well. I'm looking at sept or oct to... It's nice to find someone who is starting their journey around the same time as I. What are unjury products and where can I find them?
