  2. UGH...Tomorrow is my day and I am so nervous I feel like I don't want to do this!! I remember a few weeks ago I was so macho and I kept saying how it wasn't a big deal but here I am today questioning my decision. UGH!! There is no turning back now. I will do this I just need to get over this emotional crap. I also think it may be because I am hungry. Damn stomach!
  3. I only had to do a 7 day liquid diet. I am on day 5 of mine and it's been hard. My surgery is Wednesday. Good luck you can do it.

  8. Congratulations! My surgery is on the 11th. It's great to have wives that support our decision and I am thankful that mine also supports me. Good luck.
  9. I got a list at my nutrition class on last Wednesday. I am supposed to get a multi vitamin, calcium citrate that dissolves in my mouth and B 12 vitamin.
  10. I'm nervous too but I think in the end it will be a good thing. My surgery is September 11th and I've been going back and fourth wondering if this is the right thing to do but I know it is. Good luck and let me know how you do. I always like to see a guys perspective, no disrespect to the ladies.

    Autoimmune Issues and VSG?

Oh I haven't used Methotrexate or folic acid for two or three years now. My second Rheumatologist was an awesome guy. I really miss him. He is the one that helped me out the most. My first rheumy was a quack and now this one, my third rheumy is alright.

    Autoimmune Issues and VSG?

Congratulations! I can't wait! Even though I will be taking medications for my RA I would love to scratch my B/P med off cause it makes me have to run to the bathroom all the time. I would also like to get rid of my CPAP machine.

    Autoimmune Issues and VSG?

I had made the decision on my own to have the surgery because I was not losing the weight. I would lose then gain and lose and gain again. I had gone to one of the meetings at my bariatric doctors office and my eyes were opened to this new way to help me out. I had gone a few months later to my rheumatologist and told her I was going to do this and that I had spoke with my bariatrician and he said I may not be able to take one of my medications (Celebrex) is there something else that you can give me? She was angry. No! Take Tylenol or Aleve because there is nothing I can give you. I was bummed out because although I am over weight my RA takes presidence. So I had to make the decision to do what I feel I need to do because this is my body and although she is my rheumatologist I need to do what I think is right for me. So I haven't mentioned the surgery again. I just had my last appointment with her on July third and she told me I had to do something about my weight, eat less, exercise more. I felt like saying I am doing those things but I just let it roll off my back. When I go to my appointment in October I will have had the surgery and lost some weight so we will see what she says after the fact. I swear these doctors act like I sit at my table loaded with food and pig out all day. September 11th can't get here soon enough. Good luck on your surgery and let me know how you feel after.

    Autoimmune Issues and VSG?

This is a great question! I have Rheumatoid arthritis and was wondering how doing VSG was going to affect me. My Rheumatologist was against me having the surgery but I am going forward with it and am scheduled for September 11th. I also gained my weight from the medications I was put on and have not been able to lose it. I am so happy to see others that have RA and are having or have had the surgery. I am on Orencia and had my last infusion on July 31st.
  17. I drink water too but you are right it doesn't help. I try and distract myself and keep busy so I forget my hunger. I don't go in for my nutrition class until September 21 so I am just watching my calorie intake for now.
  18. Ok so in 34 days I will be getting sleeved and I am nervous and freaking out! I'm excited but at the same time questioning my decision. Honestly there is nothing that would change my mind. I have to remind myself that I am doing this for me because I want to get healthy and be there for my family. Losing weight to look good is also another reason but I don't want to sound vain but after you go through a period when people make fun of you because you're fat you do what you must. Sorry for venting out my anxiety on the board but I had to get it out.
  19. I had the the feeling! I drank my shake for breakfast and after about an hour I was hungry!
  20. Well not that I want to disrespect 9/11 but I lived it once and for the past 11 years watching over and over has gotten to me. This year I am not watching it. I don't live far from New York and can remember it like it was yesterday. My daughter was just two weeks old and life for everyone changed that day. 9/11/13 will be a new beginning for me.
  21. I live in Lancaster Pennsylvania and I am having it done here.
