  6. Question was it easier to get approved for WLS due to your PCOS ? I've diagnosed as a teenager struggling with weight all my life, periods few far and sometimes never. Then I've had periods last 30days with excessive bleeding, now I'm over 300 lbs and losing my hair the DHT is attacking my hair follicles, I don't want to go bald, seriously I'm currently prescribed steroids to try to get my hair back all these factors and I don't see why I have to play this insurance game.,
  7. I was hesitate about beginning the 6 month diet. I don't know what is but I've wanted gastric bypass for over 10 years now and I've been to countless seminars so I've started the process I have 5 more appointments so with the dietitian I'm really scared a little I guess. I could've been done by now with the appointments and submitting my paperwork as well. Please keep me updated on your status with the insurance company and SSM. I wish you the best!!!!
  8. The waiting is over ... Good news keep us updated . Hope your surgery goes as planned and wishes for a speedy recovery.

  13. Hello Jashantee, I am in same stage as you of the 6 months required diet & documentation for insurance purposes and I will be going to DePaul to Dr.Morales. Who are seeing for you diet? I am working with a dietician / nutritionist through SSM , but I think it's a pure waste of time .
  14. Going to the dietician this pass week has worried me, I told her the only reason I was meeting with her was because I need a physician approved diet ...because my goal is to have WLS & she looked shocked. Then she started with her spill about nutrition , healthy eating and exercise. She did not ask me about my previous health issues or prior weight history. Which alarmed me. I told her next month I will be back with the paperwork I need her to complete for insurance purposes for approval for WLS. So you think I should be worried about her, preventing me from being approved for WLS ??? Anyone with experience please let me know. Thanks
  15. Anyone with tips ? I am currently on the insurance mandatory diet for 6 months.
  16. How is the journey going? I've gained 5 lbs in 3months I went the doctor this week and they started keeping track of my diet for insurance purposes. Does anyone have any tips on doing this accurately so that I don't have any issues with the insurance company? I don't want to be denied or delayed any further.
  17. It probably is your steroids.
