5/3/07 I took the dog for a walk and I am getting ready for the doctor to get my fill. First MD apppt in over a year. Fill it baby, Fill it! Back to Liquids!!!! Stay focused Debby!!!!!
  2. Dave don't rush the mushies, It's not pretty. Hold out for as long as you can stand it.
  3. Thanks guys for the warm welcome, I feel like I have an opportunity to get to know a whole new crowd. My md's appt is at 10am tomorrow and I have the last supper mentality going on this afternoon but soon enough I'll be jolted back towards the right track.

5/2/07 I cannot do this alone. So why do I continously try. I am taking charge today and have recommitted myself to this cause!!!! I need serious support. So talking out loud is my first step. I'm going to the doctor for a fill tomorrow, the first appt in over a year.

  6. Well, I'm back on the wagon! I was doing so well. Down to 179 last year and I took my eye off the prize and I'm back to 200.0 today. I'm going for a fill tomorrow and back on liquids for as long as I can stand it. This is such a great support place and I got lazy quite frankly, so here I am to reintroduce myself and get with the program. :help::help::help::help::help:
  7. Hey Silly I'm Holtsville!!
  8. I usually put it into lamans terms: "I have a ring around my stomach. It changed the shape into a hourglass which allows me to feel full on a small amount of food. it was pretty low invasive and I was back running around in a few days." And if they still need more I usually add the fact I have all of my digestive system still intack, unchanged and functioning except for the shape thing. Good luck some people will never get it but this is for you not them.
  9. I am a straw user. I am picky though - only fat straws will do.
  10. How did your day turn out???? ER ???? HOpe you're alright. Debby
  11. I would love to get together. I keed some serious head support.
  12. Yup, count me in toooo! I've been on synthroid my whole life and there should not be any problems with this because we are not the malabsorption crowd. With the bypass and other types of surgery a close eye on levels would be needed.
  13. Go slow and try not to go crazy with trying harder food or carbs. I went too fast and was rehospitalized because I was graviting toward the harder mushies too soon. PBing in the very beginning is not good. You need time to heal. good luck to you
  14. Hi everyone. I am 206 this morning and I am getting some momentum going with this weight loss thing. Thank Jonathan for keeping us going with the summer challenge. Debby
  15. Hi Jonathan, Thank you everyone for the inspiration. I'm shooting for 20 in 10 weeks. That would put me at 194. by Labor Day. I nned to take a picture. I'll post it later this week.
  16. Thanks for doing this _ I'm in.
  17. Cavete Emptor ( I think - buyer beware) I would hope the people looking for information on different surgeries are not solely depending on what people say on a message boards. Of course people are going to try and steer anyone into what they had done. Just like buying a car, or moving into a particular neighborhood etc. I have found this board to be wonderfully supportive and full of good information with an occassional, that's good to know but "not for me" feeling. This is such a personal decision. I hope people who are making a WLS Decision look at all infor out there and evaluate it by which it's coming. My roomie at the hospital chose the by pass because her husband didn't like the thought of a port in her abdomin. That sounded weel thought out to me. NOT! There are no free rides with any decision. There is hard work and dedication required. Research everything!
  18. Have a great day!!!!!! Enjoy
  19. Wow, I just read through this thread and it's so amazing - how far have I come. I just had my first fill today and I'm down 27 since surgery 30 all tolled. I feel like a completely different person , mentally and physically. I have energy and am in a really great space right now. I don't think I'm a model bandster, I'm not making all good food choices but I am losing and I'm sure I'll need to focus on that in the coming months. I never would have envisioned this a few months ago. I am soooooo not a closet bandster - (except for work). I can't believe I went 180 degrees different than I orginally thought Thank you all for being a terrific support! Looking forward to Jonathan starting a new weight loss challenge and a summer of losing!!!!! Thanks again everyone
  20. COngratulations to all of you June bandsters! June is such a wonderful Life changing month, Weddings, graduations, moving up cermonies! It took me 3 weeks to be back to my 100%, actually I'm at 110% of what I was. Be patient and kind to yourself. I'm 6 weeks out and got the groove going. Wishing you all a speedy recovery and a fullfilling WL journey
