When will i get my energy back?
i agree with doing some exercise. on the days i go for a walk or two, i definitely feel better and more energized. i also sleep less and still wake up feeling refreshed.

pill crushing?
I know I've got to take a stool softener because things aren't working out down there. haha! I can't remember if we have to crush for a month or for three months? I'm thinking of crushing it just to be safe.

Feel real tired after i exercise, im 13 days postop.
i was only allowed to walk 15 mins at a time until 4 weeks. and i thought i could go further, but remember you just had major abdominal surgery! your body needs time to recover. do two 15 min walks a day, and then it'll get a little easier as time progresses.

Pureed eggs?!
when i was on pureed food, the only way i was allowed to have my eggs was poached or "softly cooked/runny". i wasn't allowed scrambled eggs.

Whats it like being under and waking up from surgery?
they told me they were mixing me a great cocktail, next thing i knew i woke up in recovery. felt like five seconds! i was very nauseous when i woke up though.

One month after surgery
i was sleeved the same day! so far i've lost 18lbs that i know of, i haven't been back to the doctor in almost two weeks and don't own a scale. oops! but go us!

i'm now my dogs bff
my dog has permanent "pound puppy face" and even after he's eaten half of a chicken breast he looks up at me like he's starving! haha!

i'm now my dogs bff
it's nice because my husband works 60+ hours a week. so at least i don't have to eat alone! LOL!

McDonalds
i just did a ten hour road trip with my mom and brother and they stopped for mcdonalds. i couldn't even smell it, i had to get out of the car. watching him eat those chicken nuggets was gross. i had a string cheese from a gas station! you can do it!

i'm now my dogs bff
any time i grab anything from the kitchen he follows me and sits patiently at my feet. he knows he's about to chow down on whatever i can't eat! haha. he really loves licking the yogurt container after i'm done.

Bread products
i used the flatout bread for the first time yesterday and i tolerated it well. i'm 4 weeks post op. i haven't tried regular bread, i'm scared to. also because regular bread is a trigger for me. but i've also had a whole wheat wrap from a restaurant and that went down easy too. i'm think bread might be a little dense for our sleeve.

Am i losing my mind?
i know how you feel. i'm 24, 4 weeks post op, and my friends, husband and i go out A LOT. it's a big difference at first, mostly because for the first three weeks, at least, after surgery (for me) i was on full liquids/purees so any time my friends went out i couldn't go. it hurt, and i cried a few times, but i knew it was for the best. i'm not allowed alcohol for six months after surgery, but i wasn't a big drinker anyway. but yesterday, for example, my two friends and i went to a local bbq place. they both got cheeseburgers, ate the WHOLE plate with their fries. i got a wrap and immediately asked for a box, and boxed 3/4th of the wrap and 90% of the fries. i ate the insides of the wrap and about 5-6 fries. i made a decision to not limit myself when going out to eat because i would think it might make me feel lousy (but i do stay away from my triggers which is a slice of something like italian bread, a breadstick, the bun on a hamburger...) plus, while my two friends scarfed down their meal in under ten minutes, i can still get three more meals out of mine! haha! gotta look on the bright side. will you be a bit different? yeah. but when you see the difference on the scale, it's really not that bad! good luck!

Hunger pangs? Really?
the first few days after surgery my stomach was weird and made weird noises and had weird feelings. about a week after, everything seemed to normal out. i, personally, don't feel hungry and need to remind myself to eat. i eat something about every 2-3 hours and track everything with myfitnesspal.

Full Liquid ideas besides gagging shakes
i ate a lot of greek yogurt (dannon light and fit greek, some have 2x protein!) to get some extra protein in. but the shakes, unfortunately, at that stage were mandatory for protein intake.

i never thought pureed food would be so good
NO CHEESE!? I am so sorry. But your dinner sounds delicious!

First day/night in hospital?
i was only required one night in the hospital... my suggestion is don't bother bringing them up! my husband and a few of my friends came to visit and i was asleep 90% of the time they were there. i was all sedated and kept dozing off during the conversation.

i never thought pureed food would be so good
i'm actually not allowed to have scrambled eggs yet? on my diet progression it says "soft cooked or poached egg (NOT SCRAMBLED), which i'm really curious as why i can't have scrambled. BUT I'M DYING FOR EGGS! LOL

i never thought pureed food would be so good
refried beans sounds soooo good. i have leftover meatloaf from dinner yesterday, but i'm not sure if i want to venture into it because it's beef and i was pretty sure it was only like 80% lean. my mom made it and she's a skinny mini, sooo.. lol

i never thought pureed food would be so good
Three week post-op appointment today. Only lost 5lbs in the last two weeks, but hey! That's 5lbs gone forever! Bye bye! Started pureed stage today, I'm just so happy I can eat something other than pudding/yogurt/creamy soup! Does anyone have any good suggestions for this stage? I already had tuna fish today, just waiting to see what I can conjure up for dinner.

Protein help
premier ready to drink shakes have been the only protein i have been able to drink save for isopure and i'm almost three weeks out. i can also sometimes stomach the body fortress chocolate peanut butter when i'm REALLY craving something sweet. but i love the premier shakes. they go down easy and are small, and still have 30g of protein!

Coffee
i was and have been allowed to drink coffee with milk through pre-op and immediately post-op. i waited nearly two weeks post op to have it and it went right through me. only thing i've had so far post op that hasn't agreed with me, unfortunately.

When did you start to work out after surgery.
I was told nothing but walking (and not on an incline!) for at least four weeks. she said i could go to the gym and do the eliptical and treadmill but that was it. disappointed because i'm out on disability and wanted to use the time i had for the gym.
