  1. That's fab to hear! I must say I was a little worried. Well done what an achievement :-
  2. After reading these answers and contemplating things. I have come to the realisation that most of the negative people have indeed been those, that have been helping to kill me with kindness. Some when being told I am dieting have bought me boxes of chocolates. Others have made a point of making my favourite fattening foods. Often "but you have a pretty face" (thats in the eye of the beholder lol) is said while discouraging me to diet and now I'm having the sleeve. I will change body size, but I will still be me. I think some are worried I will change, become someone else. Well they will see I will just be a happier me and they will have to like it or lump it lol :-)
  3. FranWa I'm living in the UAE at the moment. I am travelling back to the UK to have the op. I have my post op consultation on 26th July. Hoping to have the op on 15/16th August :-).excited but nervous.
  4. Hi Cajunlady 12, I think sometimes we expect those close to us or loved ones too understand! Some do and some don't! Seems to be the same in life in general. That's the fab thing about this forum, we are all on a journey together! It doesn't matter who we are or where we come from, there is support and understanding. So glad I found this forum! Thanks :-)
  5. Gmanbat your so right I have spent hours doing research! I like the idea of just binning the negativity and letting the doofuses waller in their doof. As us Brits say " put your chin in the air and walk on by" lol. I really need to learn to do that :-). FranWa after at least 30+ years of constant dieting and failure I can't wait to start living. Have you a date for you op?
  6. A new beginning! Think we all know this is not the easy route but for most of us the last resort. The best of luck and sending you positive vibes :-)
  7. Thanks Tigerbelle this forum is fab! Such nice people :-)
  8. Hi, I'm a newbie and a bit of a computer phobic lol just trying to get to grips with things. I have a number of very close friends who are being very supportive of my decision to have surgery. Alas there are lot's who are not! can anyone advise how to deal with negativity? :-)
