  1. It's so expensive. I don't think I was ready for the pharmacist to say over 200 dollars for my prescriptions! Gotta do whatcha gotta do.
  2. Does anyone have to have lovenox injections after surgery?
  3. Whats everyone drinking after surgery?? Protein shake wise. I know Slim Fast isn't good for you because of the sugar but the Slim Fast High Protein I have been drinking for my preop diet only has 2 sugars in it and the New Direction product that they want me to drink has 4...Kinda confused about that...Good Luck to everyone being sleeved this month!
  4. It's from all the fluid they pump in ya. It should be gone soon. Good luck and hope you're feeling great!
  5. My insurance is weird, I couldn't have my psych eval until after I was approved for surgery. Well I now have to take a written portion for the eval and I can't do it until my insurance signs off on it. I'm actually on the phone with insurance now trying to get them to push it through. Wish me luck!
  6. Just found out I may have to push my surgery back a week. Kinda mad because I started my preop diet the day before thanksgiving. Grr. I'll get over it. Good luck for everyone this week.
  7. Going for my psych eval today. He's the only thing left. Hope he passes me!
  8. To all my fellow December 11th sleevers who start their 2 week pre op diet tomorrow, good luck and stay strong. Remember, it's only 2 weeks, you can do it!
  9. Is anybody not really nervous at all and just ready to be on the loser bench with the first few weeks behind us? Yeah you could die from this surgery but you can die from any surgery. I can die in my car later today you just never know. At least we're trying to change and that's all that matters. Sorry just been thinking about this a lot lately. Don't want to bum anyone out. Everyone just asks If I'm nervous and I always say no I'm ready to wake up and ask the nurse if I'm skinny yet!
  10. Well they gave me a big binder full of things to expect before and after. She gave me a list of protein drinks I can have and other goodies like sf jello and sf popsicles for the preop diet. My surgeon has you stop the protein 2 days before and start some bowel movement liquid. She gave me things for after if I have any complications. Told me what to do before going to the hospital and I got a journal and new water bottle. I'm sure there was more. I'll read everything after work tonight. She just went over everything really fast. I know she does it a lot but I don't. I.should of told her to slow down!
  11. Had a preop appointment with my surgeons nurse today. It's a lot to take in and kind of overwhelming.
  12. Anybody getting sleeved in Indiana or surrounding area?
  13. Hi everyone! December 11th over here! Can't wait! Good luck!
  14. Yup I've been on the New Directions diet for two weeks now. Lost over 13 pounds. May be more all scales are different. However I find that everyone in my class are different with their selections. It's ok and I'll be on it for 2 more weeks. After that it's my preop diet. I start it the day before thanksgiving. Gotta do whatcha gotta do. But yes they are expensive plus I have to pay a class fee. I spent $96 this week!
  15. Is anyone else tired of waiting at appointments and going to them in general? For 7 months it feels like at least once a week I've had an appointment and been poked and have had blood work. They ask the same exact questions (I know they have to) but I know it's worth it I guess I just need someone else yo tell me it is.
  16. I'm so very tired of the options already. Hot cocoa for breakfast, chocolate pudding for lunch (yucky) and cream of chicken soup for dinner. I'm ready to lose the weight and be sleeved already. Thank you!
  17. I agree with the person above me. That is not a friend. All of the people I have told have been supportive, those are friends. I'll support you! Everyone who is on this sight needs someone. I'll be there for everyone! Stay strong your true friends will be there for you in the end.
  18. Thank you. I'm actually on a ketosis diet right now. Been on it since last Thursday and have lost 11 pounds. I had 33 to lose. Its just very expensive because I have to do it through the hospital but if it's working I'll do it! I've been working at this now since April and I'm so excited it's finally almost time to start my new life. Here's to being sleeved eventually! Lol
  19. Finally approved! Super excited but still need to lose about 20 pounds before the surgeon will do the surgery. Don't know what to do next but hey I'm approved!.
  20. I thank everyone for your replies! I think this first surgery just scared me into thinking I dont want to have to go through this again but i know im my mind and heart that this is going to be the best thing for me. One more week and I should have information sent to insurance for approval. Other than being healthy I want to start dating and get married and have children. I've dated before but realized if i dont love the way i look why should i expect someone else to? To stop lying about sitting in a booth would be great also. I say they dont get them clean enough but really i just like to be able to breathe while i eat. Not having to shop online for clothes will be a great plus as well and hey i actually like to work out but my knees and feet start to hurt so i have to stop after about a half hour. Im looking forward to being able to run outside or be on the elliptical for an hour. OH and to buy a bike for less then a grand because you weigh too much to get the ones from Wal-Mart or Target. My ultimate goal however is to be able to go back to an amusement park (cedar point!) and ride ALL the rides. Last time i was there (mind you i'm 27) I didn't fit on some. Looking forward to saying "Yeah I rode that!"
  21. Last Monday I had my first surgery. It was parathyroid surgery which means it was on my neck. Very painful at first but after a week I'm feeling better. I've only got one more weigh in with my Doctor before we send information to insurance and I'm getting nervous and wondering if I'm doing the right thing. Why did you do it? Other then the fact that you wanted to be healthy.
  22. I just had another one of those tests done last week. Not comfortable at all. This will be my first surgery. Hoping everything goes well and I'm home by the afternoon. Thank you!
  23. Hey everyone. Parathyroid surgery tomorrow morning at 11. One step closer!!!
