What's a "nasal canulla"(sp.?)- My sleep test kept me awake
Hey everyone, I was so psyched to have my sleep study last night but when I arrived at the hospital, no one was around, the security could not locate the technicians so I waited a half hour before another security person yelled out, "Anybody her for sleep lab?" So I jumped up happy and ready to go...unfortunately, my lab technician got into a car accident and was wheeled into the same emergency room I was in. How ya like them apples. I get home and can't sleep... I'm glad she will be okay but I so want to be finished with my tests. This will be another delay. I have Cardio & Gastro next...I see my primary tomorrow... Still rooting for an Aug. date...wish me luck & say a prayer. JB- African American Sleevers
I'm loading up on liquid silica via Diatomaceous Earth mixed in water/juice now and will keep it as part of my Water intake. I am natural and have a massive amount of thick unruly hair. When I reach goal, I will probably cut it all off and start with a funky new do...short on the sides more on top...dyed honey blonde or cinnamon brown. Lol Losing weight & ya hair can be a bit overwhelming. Lol but it's our bodies way of shedding...- African American Sleevers
So the name is the same for the website? Thanks Cor- Effects of Protein Shakes
Hey everyone, If you read the list of Atkins products, Malitol is an ingredient that is a sugar alcohol which oftentimes causes bloating, gas, & in some folk, diarrhea. I loved Dr. Atkins candy bars and boy as soon as I ate one, it was a wrap...lol Hope this helps.- African American Sleevers

I do not have a stomach ulcer & make sure you eat tons of yogurt or take acidophilus supplements. I'm finding out the hard way...it literally is depleting all the good Bacteria out...so now I have a YI! So once I complete this therapy, I have my sleep study on Sat 7/20 FOLLOW-up with PCP 7/22 Cardiologist 7/24 Gastoenterologist 7/31 I'm praying for a surgery date between 8/17-8/31 as I'm on 2wks vacay. That would allow me to rest and get it together before I head back to work. Pray for me please. Stay strong.- African American Sleevers
Yes, I was diagnosed with H. Pylori as well. I'm on day 9 of my triple therapy. That nurse is INCORRECT IN SAYING H. PYLORI IS PREVELANT FOR AFRICAN-AMERICANS...Everyone one of us in the WORLD have been exposed by this bacterium. It can be dormant for years. I've had blood work done all the time and this is the only time it has come up. She is clearly misinformed and anyway, it shouldn't prevent the surgery. Good luck.- Anyone from Brooklyn, NY Pre-Op/Post-Op? Im in the pre-pre stage...
Hey VST'ers... Saw a Pulmonary Specialist and all systems GO! He was flabbergasted that my cholesterol was 46! He was impressed and said I had the bloodwork of.a 25yr old... I'm 5'6 281# so I guess that's a shock...I am pre-diabetic but that will be done with as soon as I have surgery. The sleep Test & Cardiologist are next. Looking like 8/17-8/31 I may get it done. So excited and glad I found this forum. What a wonderful life...- To tell or not to tell that is the question.......................
Thanks for posting this because I feel somewhat uncomfortable "fibbing" but I also don't want it broadcasted...so I will document my walks like I've been doing on FB, my low-carb meals and that way people who follow me know I am eating better and exercising. I walk 2.35-3miles a day for 5 days and that's a lot of info. to share and the results will follow. Only a few close friends know and my Mom, Sis, ex-boyfriend, and my niece. I'm comfy with that. What a wonderful life...- Just an observation...not intended to offend anyone

When I went to get my Psych Evaluation, I mentioned to the Doctor that I've read on here (VST) many posters saying how the mental/emotional aspect hasn't caught up with the weight loss. His suggestion was to seek counseling. Go to the group meetings, get assistance with your mental/emotional part of this lifestyle change before its too overwhelming. This forum is helpful but a trained professional can help us all through the myriad of changes we all may/are facing. Good luck to all. What a wonderful life...- what do you think
Wow...your husband will be so thankful that you came to his job function looking HOTTTTT! enjoy your new look. Show those legs off. Woohoo.. What a wonderful life... - When does it get better
