  1. Hello all, My insurance company called me today after my Dr submitted all paperwork and asked for a HIPPA statement from my old job. I have been on my new job now for 8 months now. I am researching HIPPA, and was wondering why would my insurance co need this info. I have found out that HIPPA tells what your medical history is. My main question is has any other bandsters had this requested and if so, what was the outcome? Thank You Dlynn

    Strange Insurance Question

Alexandra, This is our pre existing statement, so I believe I should be ok according to the below. Any condition for which the insured has received medical treatment or diagnosis during the three months prior to his/her effective date of insurance will be deemed pre-existing, and the plan will not cover claims on that particular condition during the first 12 months of coverage.

    Strange Insurance Question

Alexandra, Thanks for the quick reply as I got nervous as to why they needed this info, not knowing what they were for anyway. I did have insurance prior to my current job, there was a 5 month lapse in insurance thats it. This site is awesome for information. Thanks a million Dlynn
  4. Hello Every1, I am new here, although I have been reading for about 3 months. I am awaiting the response from my insurance company as I have completed all requirements. My Dr told me to be prepared for surgery on April 4th, he is confident that I will be approved, I am nervous. I have arhtritic knees, heartburn, chest pains & failed attempts at weight loss. I am 5.2 bmi 40. This is nerve wracking waiting. But I'm trying to be PATIENT!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  5. My Doctor does the surgery in either his office or the hospital, I prefer the hospital though.
  6. Gunn4ya, Thank you I am trying to be patient. Thanks for the welcome, this site is awesome.
  7. Hello Every1, I am in the process of getting a band. I had a letter from my primary stating that I have been obese for the last 10 years. I had my first meeting with the Dr, I have my pysco next week, nutrition & second group session this Thursday. I have an upper GI & a second test this Thursday. My Dr. told me that it should be easy getting approved, being that I have all things in order. If all goes well then I will be getting banded either the last Monday in March or first in April. What else should I expect?

New to the boards - Questions

HarleyNaNa, I was wondering do most people do the lapband in the hospital or in the Dr office? My Dr gives you the choice, as I was just wondering. I have been reading around the boards and there is a wealth of good info here, as I have also done some research as well.
