  1. I just had my band taken out 16 days ago and the sleeve done. I chose the Band because it was less invasive and no cutting on my stomach would have to be done. I had it for 5 years but after 3 yrs I started having reflux that was so bad i was choking at night in my sleep. i tried everthing, I even had an endoscopy that showed nothing was wrong with the band but i did have a hiatal hernia. I had surgery to fix the hernia and still had the reflux! I can honestly say, having to go in all the time for fills and then the band would get to tight and I would have to have fluid taken out, was a pain. Also the feeling when eating, of having food stuck in your throat like a rock after just a few bits was frustrating and unfullfilling. I nolonger had the sensation of the food going down into my stomach and it feeling satisfying. Now that i have the sleeve eating feels normal again. I wish I would have had the sleeve done in the first place.
  2. 16 days out from having my lap band removed and sleeve done. I am so pleased with the way it feels when i eat. The food goes all the way down into my stomach and doesnt get stuck in my throat leaving me feeling frustrated and unfullfilled. Best thing i ever did! I had the revision done because i started having enormous amounts of reflux after 3 years with the lap band. If I kept the band loose i didnt have the reflux but i started gaining my weight back. I had the revision done before i gained it all back. my wt was 198 and i'm down to 185 in 16 days. wish i would have had the sleeve done in the first place.
  3. I felt the same way. I flew to Tijauna from texas by myself and am scared to death to fly just like you. I was questioning myself right up until they pushed me into the operating room. My surgery was 7/24/13. The first post op day was horrible and i was really wondering what i had gotten myself into but the 2nd day was 100% better and its been better everyday since. I had my lap band taken out and a sleeve done before i gained all my weight back. I started out 198 and i'm 185 today. The sleeve feels so much better than the band. So happy i had it done. It will be just fine.
  4. I had a revision from lap band to sleeve and went through Mexico Bariatric with Dr Valenzuela 7/24/13. My coordinator was Cindy Rios and everyone was wonderful and very professional. I went alone and they were very organized and were always where they said they would be and someone was with me the whole way through the process. The marriott was beautiful and again everyone was so nice. Would do it again tomorrow!
