  1. No pre-op. Surgery 258lbs. Today 216! Surgery 6/20/13.
  2. Scottsgirl if you need to open your omeprazole/prilosec capsule tell your doctor not to give you the one with DR. DR means delayed release meaning it works over time. These capsules are not meant to be opened. Good luck! :-)
  3. I mdidn't haceiserably had this problem too. It happened first week of back to work. I didn't drink all my water as recommend, ended impacted. I did almost all remedies mentioned (stool softeners, mag citraste & fleet enema) had barely some diarrhea but still knew I had hard stool (tmi). What I'm trying to warn you is that I tried all these remedies because nothing really was working I ultimately ended up with fever, chills and very weak. I thought I was getting "flu" finally I connected the dots; I was severely dehydrated! Since u have a nursing background...connect the dots & u will figure it out! B really careful!

  6. Poolguard nailed it! You need to start with baby steps. Great idea in segmenting your minutes of walking. Slowly build up. I also noticed that when I listen to my favorite music, I walk longer and faster. Good luck! You can do it!

  9. What chocolate protein powder do you use? Currently, all I do is ready to drink protein shakes. Great post, love your honesty.

  12. June 21 sleever. I have lost 27lbs since surgery day. Haven't really exercised due to lack of energy. I drink 2 premier protein drinks & 1 Greek yogurt to get 72 g of protein. I drink about 1.5 L of water, MD recommends 2L. This past 2 days I haven't drank much water, no good.

  15. Before surgery I always had problems from fluid accumulating in my ears & sometimes w/ post nasal drip. After surgery, with some soft foods I would feel like food would get stuck in my throat. Then I would get nauseous. Then I noticed once I vomited, it would be phlegm! I guess I had a bigger problem w/post nasal drip than I thought. I started taking my zyrtec again& no more vomiting!
  16. My doctor told me it is possible to gain lbs back! He says if you start eating a lot then you will slowly stretch your stomach again. This scares me because I Dont get hungry but I do have "mental hunger."
  17. Will definitely try b12! Thanks.
  18. Definitely hot flashes & headache if I eat too fast.
  19. Is anyone experiencing fatigue & muscle aches? 3 weeks post-op.
  20. I'm 3 weeks post-op today. I too have severe exhaustion. I'm normally an early bird, can function great on 4-5 hours of sleep. Now, even w/8+ hours of sleep I'm still tired. I worry because I'm not back to work! I have noticed that I get a really bad headache if I drink my 11 ounce protein drink in less than 30 minutes. Don't have energy to exercise :-(
