  1. I had my surgery Aug 26 and recovery is going well, I think. I'm on pureed food, but I think it's hard to get the protein in and keep relying on protein drinks. I've used Greek yogurt, refried beans, ricotta cheese and a few veggies. Sometimes my stomach hurts.... I feel everything go down. Anyone else? Cramping? No nausea and the incision sites are not as painful, so off pain meds. I sure sleep alot...very little energy. I just don't know what's normal.
  2. My surgery is Aug 26 as well. I have struggled with this issue long enough and am ready for a chance for things to be different. When I get scared or hesitant and wonder what I'm doing to my body, I stop and think about how what I'm already doing, and have done for years, is doing to my body. This is to improve my quality of life for me and those I love. This is a positive thing.... but it took some self-convincing to see it that way!
  3. I'm almost through week 2. I have tried a couple of shakes and find the Premiere from Costco to be the best. I like both the chocolate and the vanilla. Can you have fruit? I'm allowed 2 fruits a day and a blend frozen peaches or frozen strawberries in them and it's fine. Other than that, it's sugar free popsicles and jello..... it might be that docs do it differently, but in terms of the shakes, try Premiere. Hang in there. You're worth it.
