  1. Thank you so much for your responses!! I will be honest, and I do believe that all of the kids will be happy with my decision. I just have to get them over the fear of the actual procedure.. like I have to do myself
  2. I am very serious about getting this procedure. I have talked to my husband and just inofrmed my mom of my decision yesterday, but I'm not sure how much information is too much information for my kids. They are all old enough to realize that I am unhealthy, and I've contributed to them being unhealthy for years.. They are 10,12,16 and 17. If anybody has advise on how much information I should share with them it would be so appreciated!!
  3. I am in Phoenix too.. well Avondale, but close enough I called the Arizona Weight Loss Institute and submitted my insurance infomation last Friday and they called me back yesterday and scheduled my first appointment over at Banner Estrella. Have you contacted anybody yet, or are you still in the "thinking about it" phase?
  4. I am right there with you. I have 4 kids and have my first appt July 10th.. I feel like it couldn't come fast enough. I have been searching for horror stories and regrets for days and the worst regret I can see is that they didn't do it sooner. I am so set on getting this procedure, but like you have a little bit of worry about losing part of my body.. we can do this right? what state do you live in?
  5. I live in Phoenix and have an appointment at Banner Estrella early next month.. I am very excited about it. I wanted to know if anybody has had this procedure in Arizona?
  6. I haven't had time to read all of the comments, so I am sorry if this is a duplicate from somebody else, but maybe you should ask about the e-cigerette.. that way people don't "scream" about you smoking and you can even take it on a plane!!
  7. Thanks for the responses I have a $5,000.00 deductable.. and the funny thing is, I actually work for Cigna!!! Whoop talk about luck LOL! I guess I should plan on paying my full deductable. I was really hoping that it wasn't going to cost me that much, but it will soooo be worth it, so I will do what I have to do.
  8. Wow.. congrats to both of you!! I can't wait to have this done. The more I read about it, the more I want it. I wish both of you success in the days, weeks and years to come!!
  9. I hadn't ever heard of the sleeve prior to last week. I called my insurance carrier to see if the lapband was covered. To my surprise the lady that answered my call explained to me that it was covered, but she actually had the sleeve procedure. I said "what tha" I had never heard of any such thing. She explained so much, but I felt the need to overflow my brain with research. I am comfortable with the procedure, just not sure yet if it's been around long enough to know.. has anybody else had that feeling? My cousin had the lapband and later made it onto the Biggest Loser and she told me once that had she known how easy it was to lose the weight, she never would have gotten the lapband. She is going tomorrow to have it removed. I however, do not have trainers, nutritionist and 8-10 hours to spend in the gym everyday like she did. I am super proud of her, but I tend to over eat and haven't found it possible to control what and how much I eat. I wanted to know if anybody has had his procedure using Cigna Healthcare and if so, how was your experience. Did you pay a ton? I am scheduled for my first appointment with the surgeon's office next month, but wanted to get a feel for what I should expect. Thank you so much!
