  1. Yes, I was just at the 40 and was approved. They require a 40 so as long as you are thier, you're good
  2. I had mine two days before you.. how are you feeling? I still have some pain at my incision sites and the gas pains are still getting to me but they go away seconds after taking gas x strips.
  3. Good luck! I know exactly what you mean.. I almost backed out myself.. I let my nerves get the best of me, but I am SO glad I didn't! I was sleeved last Thursday and every day feel better and better.. I am so looking forward to tomorrow when I get to eat real food.. beans! Not sure if you are a religous, but I found a lot of prayer got me through. I have four children and my husband who is diabetic along with mentally ill and kept thinking what if and who would... they are all so helpful and thankful for the follow through. You'll do it when you're ready
  4. I just had surgery Thursday with Dr. Swain in that office. The hospital was fantastic also I have a cousin and my bosses husband both had Blackstone. She is fantastic. Their entire program is so good. Where are you from? I live in Avondale.
  5. I'm with you! Going tomorrow too.. I have to be at the hospital at 6, surgery is at 8. I am a mess right now. I'm super happy and ready for my new life to begin, but I'm am a little scared. My coworkes bought me all kinds of goodies and even stuff for my youngest daughters do do while in the waiting room. See you on the losers bench!!
  6. LindafromFlorida... I kinda want to hug you right now. Although, I can't relate with the pain and losses you have delt with. I hope something put a smile on your face everyday. I'm sorry for your experience with death. I just can't imagine.

  10. You know I just got butterflies for you!! You've got this.
  11. Thanks for posting this!! I will be sleeved in just a few days! I have been trying to get my husband on board because he was just diagnosed type 2 diabetic last fall and his surgery would be FREE if he did it this year because mine is taking care of our out of pocket max, but he is convinced that just diet and exercise will do the trick.. I'm making him read this
  12. I am still preop, have surgery next Thursday, but like you, my provider tried to give me pills because of her personal feelings about WLS. I took the pills.. lost 30 pounds.. felt like crap all the time.. couldn't sleep, mouth was always dry and one day (last day I took them) had blurred vision while driving on the freeway to work.. Oh and started gaining days after I stopped taking them. If you know that this is something you want, then see another doctor. I did.. I actually just mentioned it to my new dr during a visit he was having with my husband lol and once I knew he was on board, I changed over to him. Good luck
  13. I'm on liquid for 5 days, then I go to a post op class where they serve me my first "real food" after surgery. But it's different everywhere you go (that is once I actually have m surgery)

  18. I started last July.. but didn't feel great about the surgeon, so decided to change plans and start all over again in January.. only 3 month weight management was required. I am just HAPPY to be closer now. Whew! SO EXCITED
  19. Just got home from my preop appt.. surprise to me... NO SPECIAL DIET!! I have decided that I will do high protein and little or no carbs, figure the jump start isn't going to kill me, only help. But I was shocked when my surgeon said "Just don't gain anything"!
  20. Faster than you know #9grammy!! I swear I started this last July and felt like it was forever, but now that I am almost there.. it really wasn't that bad
