    SC Southern Sleevers?

Hey! So glad all are attaining their goals! I've changed mine.... As I was getting smaller, I thought about what my overall goal was. I realized I want to be stronger. So I am now a CROSSFITTER!!! I'm only about 2 months in and I love it and my goal is already coming to fruition.

  4. Thanks a lot! @Fiddleman! i just went to the park for my first go at jogging in my adult life. So you'll likely be hearing from me in other groups too!
  5. I'm not a runner YET, but just invested in my first pair of Brooks (pure connect) and all I could and can say is WOW! They fit my feet perfectly. And my main use is regular gym use incl multiple Zumba classes and such.

    SC Southern Sleevers?

Side note - I naturally have a very sluggish digestive tract. Of course, even more since my surgery. I just got and tried samples of Metamucil's new multiHealth fiber orange flavor drink mix. It worked for me! And the taste is pretty good. At least it isn't any worse than what we are already used to! I only post this bc it ACTUALLY WORKED FOR ME!! And I know that is a common post op issue and wanted to help my peeps on here. Miralax, dulcolax, and other things didn't work for me.

    Let me Introduce myself...

Hey y'all! I'm here in SC. Sleeved on June 12 and have frankly been too energetic and busy to be on the computer much! FINALLY!!! My BMI was barely over 40 at my initial consult, but had additional co-morbidities qualifying me for the surgery. There were other health problems that the weight was affecting too. (Pre-diabetic, FMS/CFS) Thankfully, I started having more energy rather quickly leading to a 40# post op weight loss. (see my ticker!) and I am **SOO** thankful for that extra energy! My 2 daughters, 11 and 13, have never seen me this active in their lives! I wanna ask for info! I missed my six week appt and wondered what some of your biggest diet changes were.

    SC Southern Sleevers?

Beachbum, Chanvita, cindy, thanks for all of your encouragement! When I first saw the new pic (in the red dress), I could definitely tell something was different! Sometimes it is harder to see it tho. Isn't that funny? I'm 5'2" and have lost 57# since my initial consult, 37# since surgery 8 weeks ago. I'm trying real hard to maximize my golden 6 months and at 2 or 3 weeks out I joined a gym. Have been doing Zumba 3x/week. I have now been incorporating weights into my workout. Having energy to move is such an amazing feeling!! So far, I've gone from a 2x top to Large. Size 20 pant and dress to size 14. SA-WEET!! It's terrible tho. I've become addicted to losing weight! I want more off now!!! lol!! Don't worry, I'm not doing anything crazy! I did, however, have to miss my 6 week appt, so if anyone has any tips, please share! Everyone - keep getting healthy!

    SC Southern Sleevers?

Chanvita, did you know you had a bum gallbladder? On another point - I have a friend who is in another state and from his initial consult, his surgery was 5 or 6 weeks later. Can You say fast track?!?! So he's a week out now and the mental difficulty of this as everyday life is hitting them. Him and his wife have 4 young children. I'm trying to find the real good informative links on getting thru this time to share with them. They both were unprepared for how this would impact life. I know i did a lot of reading, but didn't save all the links.. :/ What are your favorite links to help explain the mental side of this now, and in the future? and how to cope? Thanks girls!

    SC Southern Sleevers?

Hey all ya new members!! Hi to those who have been chatting with me since I joined! I figured I would finally show some pics! The pre op pic was June 2012 and surgery was June 2013. No change really in weight between those times. I didn't take immediate pre op pics, and haven't been documenting it much.

Beachbum - I wonder if that's part of what's going on inside the body. Remember, we are pushing it to starvation mode. I also had to share that I saw a recent picture of myself for the first time since surgery. What did I notice, out of all the changes? My eyes! I don't remember the last time I could see my eyeballs! Usually there was too much fat in the eyelid and below squishing them out of view. So to me it looked like I had "crazy eyes", when in reality it was just normal! Weird.... Just had to share.

    4 Weeks Post-Op Update

I've hit my 4 week stall. I guess it can last up to 2 weeks. My scale hasn't changed in a week. Just keep following the rule!

    SC Southern Sleevers?

Beachbum2017 and Chanvita, for now make sure you are following the rules! Right food choices, waiting to drink around meals, etc... These have to be permanent actions so if not already, start! Post op- go slow when you finally get liquids. You may feel perfectly normal. Just keep going slow. You'll all do just fine. Just let them put you to sleep. Once surgery is done, there's no going back. Which will be a relief!

    SC Southern Sleevers?

Is that your pre op diet? Full liquids? I also have to share how awesome it is to ALREADY be feeling better and having more energy. I can't believe it! And I'm just a month out! I haven't been able to do all this in a very long time. I spent 2 long, full days at a convention, even wearing heels and all dressed up. And today I'm in a car driving/riding to NY! I'm not feeling crippled!

    SC Southern Sleevers?

You will! I was at an event today and got my first dose of attention on account of the weight loss. It was weird. For someone who is comfortable around groups of people, I didn't know what to do or how to react! Lol!

    SC Southern Sleevers?

I've lost a total of 42 lbs. and I'm exactly one month post op today. It's already showing a huge difference in my body and clothes.

    SC Southern Sleevers?

I'm really doing well. Still no issues.. Yay! It's not severe, but I have periodically felt sorry for myself. I know it's just a phase. And I feel bad for feeling that way. But i still follow the rules. And this week I was able to complete an hour long Zumba class THREE TIMES!!

    SC Southern Sleevers?

All I can say is thankfully that discomfort went away within a few days. But I will say I was unprepared for how it would feel. It reminded me of when I was pregnant for my first daughter and I carried REAL high so it was hard to take a breath. That's what it felt like post op. and the morphine only took the edge off that kind of pain. I had one sleepless night. And was ill tempered as a result!!
