  1. What do you eat? I'm having a really hard time getting enough calories and protein in. Do you eat small amounts often? I need advice on how to get more calories in. Oh and the calories I do eat are mostly protein, just not enough.
  2. At this point how many calories a day is everyone consuming? I have been working out 4-5 days a week for 60-90 minutes a day and my trainer is worried I'm not getting enough calories and I do get light headed after my work outs. I have an appt with my nut next week.
  3. I've been on a three week stall. It's weird because it started right when I started seriously working out and not just walking. I am going to track my food this week and keep working out. I am sure it will eventually break.
  4. Down 72 pounds! Surgery date 5/20/13. I am so excited! I started working out at the gym 5 days a week and for 2 weeks I lost nothing, and then bam. It's hard to not get discouraged when you don't see results on the scale and you know your working as hard as you can. All I can say is hang in there!
  5. Just uploaded a photo of my journey so far.
  6. It was a good moment. But a as you probably know the moments go back and forth. Today I was sulking about how big my stomach still is. It's hard to not always focus on the things wrong with my body, but I am getting better.
  7. Funny about the fat brain. I get it though. I have medium long hair and alway wear it down. I was at the gym Tuesday and put it in a ponytail and for some reason I stopped at the mirror and when I looked at myself for a second I didn't recognize myself. It was freaked out. People tell me I look different but I never really believe them, but now I do.
  8. The gas is hard for the first few days but its normal with any laparoscopic surgery. You have a positive attitude and that helps a lot!
  9. In down 60 pounds since May 20 th, but I got a strep virus in my lungs and had double pneumonia followed by a fractured rib. I was in ICU for 3 days and in the hospital for 8. I didn't eat much for a month because it hurt too much to swallow. So I would take slow weight loss over the pneumonia any day! The good news is I'm feeling much better now, except that fractured ribs likes to bug me when I am working out.
  10. I had an awesome real life victory this week. For the first time in two years I didn't need a seat belt extender on an airplane and the tray didn't hit my belly. I'm down 60 pounds and traveling was actually fun. I even made it up the hills of San Francisco without falling over!!!!
  11. My mom had the same idea, I think it would be great!
  12. Surgery May 20th, down 56 pounds!
  13. The only Quest bar Ivan tolerate is the cinnamon roll, but I hate the texture of Quest bars and they taste very fake. I prefer natural food that I know what the ingredients are.
  14. The recipe I ended up loving is a bake one, but its very easy and they even freeze well. http://www.ehow.com/how_5598696_make-high-protein-granola-bars.html
  15. I like the ones I made and I'm trying a new recipe tonight. I haven't liked any of the store bought ones yet, they all taste fake. And making your own is much cheaper.
  16. Does anyone have any good recipes for low sugar protein bars? I made some no bake tonight that are setting up in the freezer overnight. But I would love any recipes. My NUT said I need to add one a day and I don't like quest bars.
  17. I was sleeved May 20 th and am down 40 pounds. I am having a hard time getting all the protein in. I eat high protein foods, I just get full quick. Any suggestions?
  18. 29 pounds is great! It will keep coming off. Everyone looses differently.
  19. I will try that! I am not eating much because the burning is so uncomfortable.
