  1. Thank you all so much for your support. Today has been much better. I was able to drink my shakes and eat a small meal without freaking out. Thank you!
  2. My Pre Op Diet started yesterday. Today, I had an awful day at work. As the night progressed, things went from bad to worse. My small meal started as a turkey sandwich on low cal bread and ended with me eating a half of a large pizza and picking the cheese and toppings off the other half. Now, I feel dirty and gross. I feel like a crack addict for food. I've been working on issues for 6 months. I know I'm ready for surgery. I hate this feeling after a binge. I've been suffering with this for twenty years. Does this ever get better? Am I fooling myself by believing surgery can help?
  3. NevadaDave, you are my hero! I am 411 lbs. I was 426 at my highest weight. My surgery date is April 17th. I'm scared to death because at 37, I have been fat for 22 years. I've been worried that I may fail at this. Thank you for reminding me that I can be successful if I try.
  4. I'm so excited. My insurance approved me in 7 business days.
  5. Wow...thanks for responding. I appreciate you responding. I need to lose ~225 lbs. It's literally horrifying to face the reality of what I've done to my body and what it's going to take to fix this. Thank God for this forum!
  6. You guys are the best! Thanks for your support. Talking about binging has helped me get some perspective. I am more in control.
  7. God bless you! Thank you so much for sharing your story. I was worried I was screwing this up and I haven't even had surgery yet!
  8. Hi Everyone! I'm new to this site and pre-op. My insurance requires a 6 month medically supervised diet. I'm at month 6. I meet the surgeon on March 3rd. Between months 4 and 5, I stopped drinking Diet Coke and lost 21 lbs. Now, I'm having issues. I'm eating Chobani yogurt, celery, turkey sandwiches on light bread (no mayo), fruit, drinking 72 oz of Water a day...and then I freak out a few times a week. Once, I ate a whole large pizza. I hate binging. I feel gross and ashamed. I haven't gained any of the 21 lbs back. However, is any of this normal? Does it get better after surgery? I'm seeing a therapist about the binging. Help, any advice will be greatly appreciated.
