  1. Wanted to let all my May sleevers who are losing hair know that 'Toppik' hair fibers really do make a difference in the appearance of thin hair. Also using Follicure shampoo and conditioner. All available at Sally Beauty and Amazon. So glad to have a product that masks the thinning of my hair. Had to share!
  2. SleevePrincess13 and others who are suffering with hair loss: I am too! So discouraging. I have found two things that help but nothing will cure it until we stabilize. 1. "Follicure" shampoo and conditioner used when you wash hair. But reduce the frequency of washing and use a dry shampoo in between. 2. Once hair has dried (an subsequent days) use "Toppik" to reduce the appearance of thinning. It is colored keratin Protein fibers. I have been very happy with this product, but look forward to not needing it. It is a bit pricey, but worth it. You can get it from Amazon or Sally Beauty.
  3. hi Tigerbelle! Glad to hear you are well. On hair loss: yes, I began losing drastically last month. While being thinner is a boost, my scalp showing is a bummer and makes me look and feel older. Certainly worth it, but still disheartening. My friend recommended "Toppik Hair Fibers" available at Sally Beauty online and in store. I haven't yet tried it but am def going to. It is pricey but really works according to my friend and her hair stylist. If you try it, please let me know your thoughts.
  4. May sleevers - Seems a big group of us were in another 3-week stall. Me too, but this morning I reached ONE-derland! Finally in the 100s instead of 200s! Praising God and thanking you for this community! 54 lbs to go for me. I am on the slow train but it is a train moving forward (or down)! Blessings to you in your journey!
  5. LoryLosesXS - It seems to be all over the board in terms of how much hair is lost, when it starts growing back, etc. I guess we just have to cope with it and be grateful for the other health benefits we are experiencing. Your hair looks cute in your pic!
  6. I started Biotin a month pre-op and have been taking it daily since my May 2, 2013 surgery. I also drink a Protein shake (or two) daily. Neither has helped my hair loss. My shower drain is covered after a shower and my scalp is prominent when it didn't used to be. Thin is wonderful (getting) but balding is so discouraging. Is there anyone out there who has had their hair start to grow back? When might one expect it to return? Hopeful.
  7. Stacyd - you and your gals look fantastic! Congratulations!
  8.    MystiGal reacted to a post in a topic: May sleevers! How much have you lost so far?
  9. Miss Lady - you look fantastic! This is such an encouragement for the slower loses like me!
  10. MystiGal - You are NOT destined to be fat forever! You have a taken a huge step toward your health and your sleeve is doing its work. I am fairly slow at losing too, but I know it will come for both of us. Don't lose faith, friend!
  11. Skittle Jessi - that is wonderful news! We focus so much on weight that it is great to hear when someone hits a milestone otherwise. Congratulations! Which BMI chart do you use? I wonder if more of us are out of the morbidly obese category...
  12. Julie G T - Look at you! You are beautiful in both pix but you look so much younger in the newer one. At my age, that is a huge compliment! Congratulations!
  13. So very happy to report that I hit my 1/2 way mark (from my highest weight) this morning! 60 lbs G-O-N-E! 60 more to go. Praising God and thanking you all for being such a supportive community. Hope that you are all having amazing results, too. XO
  14. I agree! Great posts this week! I have lost 57 lbs and am less than 10 lbs from One-derland! Woot woot!!!
  15. Jen35 - So excited for you! I can't wait to join you in "one-derland"! Only 12 lbs to go for me until I hit that happy marker. The last time my weight started with "1" was 2006. And it was only for one day in 2006. Imagine! Thrilled with your success!
  16. juarezgil - we are all excited for your 61 lbs! That is not slow! I've only lost 52 since 5/2. I am the tortoise, you are the hare!
