  1. It has been a full week since surgery. I should be happy but I am feeling bad today. I know it's mostly mental. I'm feeling like nothing in my body works the way it used to. I feel weak from not being able to get enough down. I feel depressed. Does anybody else feel this way? I feel a little crazy today.
  2. Hi everyone. I have been reading threads and posts all day. This app is addicting, but incredibly helpful. I got a lot of great ideas for puréed foods... Going to ask the doctor about them tomorrow. So I decided to introduce myself like the message I got said to. I am a rule follower I guess. Back to the point... My name is Samantha. I'm a 30 year old, single, female from central Florida. I also teach high school math. The first day of summer break in my county was May 24th, and that also happens to be my surgery date. I had my sleeve done at Sebastian River Medical Center in Sebastian, FL. This is about an hour south of where I live. The drive is well worth it to have the best surgeon around. His name is Patrick Domkowski, but really he is just an angel from God. My mom had the sleeve done by him and I truly believe he saved her life. I am now 5 days post-op and things seem to be getting a little bit better each day. I would love to meet some people around my age that would be interested in talking and sharing experiences to learn from one another. Thanks for taking the time to meet me.

    So depressed and weak today

Just wanted to check in with everyone. I am feeling better than ever. I am down 52 lbs and being very active. I am eating small portions and cleaner than ever. This surgery was definitely a life saver. Anyone that is struggling, hang in there. Remember that this too shall pass. Best wishes to you all.

    Post-op activity

Today is my 6th day post sleeve. I was able to walk a mile and a half on an outdoor track this evening. I feel so lame. How is your activity level going?

    Sleeveed on May 3rd 2012

Rene that is so inspiring to me. My heaviest weight was 351. I just had my sleeve on may 24. I am now at 337. I did not lose as much as you pre-surgery. I would really like to stay in touch with you. How old are you? I'm 30 and from Florida. Tomorrow will be 1 week for me. I am starting to feel better, but would really like to be reassured that things will be much better soon. I feel like I am missing out on life right now...

    Post-op activity

Thanks for your input. My doc has said being as active as you can leads to a quicker recovery.

New sleeve patient, post op (5 dsys)

Hey Kendra! I am happy to answer any questions that I can. I know that there is a lot of anxiety pre-surgery. Just know that it is all worth it in the end.

    tomorrow's the big day!

Just know that there will be pain. But there will also be good pain meds. It's nothing that you can't handle. The worst part for me was before surgery in pre-op. I was having an anxiety attack and they couldn't get an IV going. My pre-surgery liquid diet had left me dehydrated and veins collapsing.
