  1. Welcome! This site is awesome! Great people and great information!
  2. You go girl! Great job!
  3. Thank Tammy, Good luck to you too!! Don't worry it will be here before you know it. I am on Day 7 of my pre-op and it feels like any normal day for me know. I am use to it. I do get a little light headed at times but nothing too bad. When is your surgery?
  4. Hi, it is awesome you checked in!!! I am doing great! I can't believe it. I started my liquid diet early on Friday the 5th. I talked to another sleeve sister and thought it would be a good idea not to be at work the first few days. 1st 3 days were rough but not horrible. I had already cut out caffeine a month ago so I think that really help with my headaches not being too bad. Now I am a pro and I have already lost 9 lbs. I actually like it . My preop is 2 shakes and a meat and veggie meal at night. I also get 2 SF Jello's, 2 SF popsicles, and 2 servings of broth. They really help in between and my dinners are like fine dining cause the meat and veggies taste so YUMMY!!! I finally had my nutrition class and the post -op diet is much different then a lot of the others I see on here. I am not allowed any dairy until month 6 and no Grains until I have lost 75% of my EBW. And the day I get home I start on Purees for 2 weeks , I am only allowed one shake a day to replace a meal. A bit stricter then I was figuring but I must follow the doctors orders. How are you doing? What does pre-op consist of for you? Don't worry about it you've got this. After 3 days it is a breeze!!!
  5. Went to my final appt with the surgeon today and signed my consent forms. Also have my pre-op blood work done. I can't believe it is only 12 days away now. Wow!!! I am still on my pre-op but now following my current surgeons diet. Not too bad 2 shakes and a 4 oz protein with 1/2 cup non starch veggies. I am also allowed 2 SF Jello's, 2 SF Popsicles and 2 Servings of Broth. Its been going good. I weighed in today at the doctors and I am now down to 291!!! Wooo Hooo!!! Down 27 lbs from my highest weight. I found out I will have to give myself injections of blood thinners at home for the first 3 days after surgery.... ahhh. It's ok I can do this it is only 3 days!!! I pray and hope the next 12 days go by real fast.
  6. Hey that's great, just had my pre-op nutrition class and am having surgery on July 22nd.
  7. I am having my surgery at Silver Cross New Lenox! I love the BMI surgery group . And wa told today everyone gets a private room
  8. Yay! So excited for you!
  9. My co-workers are ordering garlic fries and you can smell them from outside! I thought work would have been easier then home! Guess I was wrong! I know this is my choice not there's but you would think a little compassion would come from them! Oh well I told them they wanna get fat That's there choice I don't wanna here then complain anymore about there weight! Sorry all had to vent!
  10. Love love love this idea! I will get this before my surgery for sure!
  11. Agrees with Johnlatte, I started my pre-op yesterday and have surprisingly done pretty well however I'm allowed an evening meal of 3oz. Of meat and 1 cup veggies cooked. This has really helped with missing chewing. Tonight was a prime example of being mindful and controlling my urges to scarf done something I shouldn't! It is almost all mental. I went to my brothers to swim and they I invited me and the family to stay for dinner. They ordered pizza out ..... I ordered a plain grilled chicken sandwich and took it off the bread and cut it up into a salad of two cups and used 1 tbsp of Italian dressing ! It wasn't too bad and then they did s'mores on the fire and I don't have any if those either. All I kept thinking is life is going to present these test to me the rest of my life and pictures myself at goal . Happy and healthy! You can do it if I can! Believe me I was dreading the pre-op diet and it so far isn't too horrible! Good luck! You'll do fine!
  12. Have you done your pre-op testing yet?
  13. That's a week before me. What are you having to do for pre-op? I started with a different facility and had to switch in the middle of it all. I started yesterday doing the old surgeons pre-op 4 shakes a day and meat and veggies at night. I'm really REALLY surprised that it has been ok these two days so far.
  14. Had another question what did the pre-op testing consist of right before surgery?
  15. They are a great group! I have my sleeve surgery on the 22nd. Nutritional class is on the 9th.
  16. Well decided to start 3 days early on my pre-op diet. I get 4 shakes a day and 2 SF Jello's or 3 SF popsicles, along with a 3oz piece of meat and 1 cup cooked veggies or 2 cups salad, and I am also allowed 1 tsp butter or 1 tbsp dressing. It seems that mine is a bit more then what others can have but I am looking forward to dinner. It hasn't been too bad however I have been peeing like crazy! Forgot to weigh myself this morning but thats alright I will go with my last weigh in. I decided to start early so I am past my first 3 days by the time I have work on Monday in hopes that I will be use to it and it will be easier for me while I am at work. So far it hasn't been too bad. Just feel like I'm missing something that is all. I do have kind of a weird head feeling going on but not a headache like a head fuzz or haze. We shall see what the rest of the weekend entails!!! Have a great day and weekend!!
  17. Awesome !!! Looking forward to many of those days after we are sleeved!!!
