  1. I hear *so* many bad stories about people who have gallbladder attacks after the surgery. Is it ever planned ahead of time to take it out while the doc is already in there? Thank you, WeeWers
  2. Folks who are successful at losing their weight or keeping it off have something valuable to share. I want to learn from you! Everyone is different and does different things to be successful. We should support each person's way and not impose "our way" of doing things. How great to share all that makes it work!! Blessings, WeeWers
  3. Hello There, I'm 59 years young and am so happy to have found this group. I hope this group includes folks who are almost out of their 50's too. My name is WeeWers and I weigh 300 pounds. I'm 5-6 and my goal is 140. We are paying for this out of pocket (exclusion with our insurance that I signed). My big concern is how I'm going to look at goal. I have seen lots of before and after photos of older folks who lost *a lot* of weight -- and they look thin -- but they also look terrible! Skin is hanging everywhere! At our age, the skin does not have the elasticity it once did. So the skin just hangs !!! Since we are paying out of pocket, it will take us a long time to save up for plastic surgeries. My breasts already hang down to almost my navel, and my tummy hangs down mid thigh. Man, I'm tearing as I write this. Have any of you thought about this. Especially the ones who can't have plastic surgery right away. I know many (most maybe) plastic surgeons make you wait a year before they will operate. I'm wanting some encouragement so very much -- but facts are facts -- my skin is just gonna hang. I'll bet the answer is just being grateful that the weight is off. Maybe that's the only solution. Thank you for listening, WeeWers
  4. What a wonderful sub-group. This forum is *enormous* and it's very difficult to keep track of everyone and make friends. I'm WeeWers and I'm at 300. I'm 59 years young and am VERY worried about all the sagging skin. I wish I had done this when my skin still had elasticity to it -- but I'm grateful to have it none the less. I have seen before and after photos of people who have lost a ton of weight who are mature -- and they look *horrible*!!! We have to pay for this surgery out of our own pocket (exclusion clause with our insurance) and so it's going to take awhile to have the money to pay for plastic surgeries. Golly, if I hadn't gotten *this* heavy -- it would be easier. I DON'T WANT TO LOOK LIKE AN OLD HAG!!! Thanks very much for listening ) WeeWers
  5. So is there anyway we can all communicate as a group?
  6. Actually I have had a reply to every post I have put up. I was wondering how others felt when they had no replies. Thanks for all the care you guys! WeeWers
  7. I know I try to post very infrequently and only post things I think would of be of interest to other people besides me -- cuz I feel down-right rejected when I get -0- replies to a post. I know -- it's a reflection of my poor self-esteem -- but it's the truth, and if I can't be honest here -- where can I be honest? I think I also am prone to feeling badly because I have no outside friends. I have mentioned that I'm home-bound -- so I haven't had a girlfriend for 15 years now. My husband is my only friend. I know most of you are waaaaay more secure than me!! Happy posting! WeeWers
  8. Hi Ash & All the Folks Who Responded, This is WeeWers. I posted a while ago for a buddy and got 2 lovely replies. It seems your post is coming together to form it's own sub-group within this forum. I would *very* much like to be part of this group -- but I don't know how to go about it. I'm 5-6 and weigh about 300 pounds. If all goes well I'm looking at a June surgery. This forum is soooooooooo big that I think it would be very difficult to make friends here. Hence, why I'm interested in the group. I'm home-bound and do not have friends outside of my husband. Do you think you could keep me updated as to being part of the group. Is the main focus of the group for folks who are sleeved in May & June? If not, is there another focus -- or just being buddies -- which is good enough for me! Take care all, WeeWers
  9. Hi There, I'm a born-again Believer who is 2 months pre-op looking for a buddy. I'm hoping to find someone who has lost a lot of weight and things have gone reasonably well ! I am 5-6 and weigh 300 pounds. My goal is 140. I struggle with depression due to my weight and an auto-immune disease with degenerative joints -- which keeps me home-bound except for the many doc apps. I would want to extend support to you in how-ever you would like. I am not looking just to take! I pray the Lord leads us to just the right match!! Bless you, WeeWers
  10. Hello, I'm WeeWers and I'm about 2 months away from my surg. It would mean the world to me if I could have a buddy. What a fabulous idea!! I don't know how you pair people up. I'm 59, weigh 300 pounds, goal weight is 140, I live in Charlotte, NC. If there is anything I'm supposed to do to get a buddy -- would someone please tell me ) Can't Wait, WeeWers
  11. Hello Folks, My name is WeeWers and I'm about 2 months away from my surg. I have been on the "Daily Strength" forum for bariatric surgery -- and had no idea you all exsisted. I'm wanting to know what folks use to mix there protien powder into their liquid. I know just shaking it leaves all kinds of little powder balls -- is there something special that you use? I'm learning so much just reading and reading. Thank you for listening. WeeWers p.s. is unjury the favorite protien powder? Do you use milk or soy to blend it in?
