  1. I had the surgery 1 week ago today. Feeling pretty good so far...still a little achy, but each day I feel leaps and bounds better. Here are my stats so far: Highest: 333.4 Pre-Op Diet Start: 274.4 Surgery: 266.6 1 Wk Post-Op: 261.2 Notes: I'm 5'6" tall. I did weight watchers for 1.5 years before approaching a doctor about the surgery. Weight watchers tapered off and I was struggling to continue losing. My pre-op diet was 2 weeks...and I wasn't perfect the whole 2 weeks, but I really tried.
  2. Thx! Good luck to you! Feeling less puffy is a good thing...eventually that will be pounds.
  3. Today is day 2 of my pre-op diet...surgery on 6/26 in CT. I had one shake and water for breakfast...then all of a sudden threw up while blow drying my hair. It was about 30-40 mins after eating. Not sure what brought that on...hope it was just an one time deal...I have another 13 days of this. :-/ Good news...lost 1.6 pounds in 1 day of pre-op diet. Lol.
  4. I'm in Stamford too! Small world!
  5. I start my pre-op diet today!!! Week 1: 4-5 Optifast shakes per day, 1 serving (4-5 oz) Protein & 1 serving vegetable Week 2: 5-6 Optifast shakes per day Plus LOTS of Water for both weeks (64 oz minimum)! Wish me luck!
  6. They told me to expect to lose about 50% - 60% of my excess weight. Ideal weight for your height is 135 - 165; so, 232 - 135 = 97 * 60% = 58.2 pounds lost. Of course that is just a rule of thumb ... You might go right past that or just above that. Good luck!!
  7. I officially have a surgery date...June 26th! Excited and nervous. The next 4 weeks will be busy with pre-opp visits, tests, and the pre-opp diet. Praying for success. Anyone else scheduled for June?
  8. I didn't even think of doing that - thx! I'll search.
  9. Thx! I am meeting with the office's nurse practitioner to discuss tests they need me to do, then the surgeon and psychologist next week. I have intentions of making a list, but you're right - I should start the list now so that I don't forget any of my questions.
  10. Exciting! Prayers for a safe surgery, speedy recovery, and successful weight loss!
