  1. Awesome! Can't wait to say those words
  2. I would still contact Dr. Lopez to make sure!!!!!
  3. Me, my sister and my sister in law all had surgery on May 10, 2013. We booked with Janese through ALighterme. We were booked with Dr. Lopez and told Dr. Ortiz would assist. The day of surgery we all met Dr. Lopez. He did my sister in laws surgery first. He was in scrubs. I was next. Before they wheeled me to surgery I saw Dr. Lopez in dress clothes as if he were leaving. Then my sister was last. Later that day as we were walking the halls, we saw the surgery board behind those double doors that said my sister in law- Dr. Lopez and me and my sister -Dr. Ortiz. After I got home, I emailed Janese to question this and she blew it off as Dr. Ortiz ALWAYS assist Dr. Lopez. Now after reading all of this, I really think Dr. Lopez wasn't even there! I feel we were lied to. On a good note, Dr. Ortiz was very nice, professional, removed our drains and we had no problems and are all doing fabulous.
  4. Thought I'd share our progress. My sister, my sister in law and I all had surgery. First pic is day before surgery (May 9) and second pic was taken yesterday. We're extremely happy so far. We all loss between 56-63#.
  5. Updated picture of my sister, my sister in law and me. May 9th (day before surgery) and today. I think we look pretty darn good! So happy that we went through this together!
  6. Yes. Try to get to gym about 3-4 times a week! Doing mainly cardio!
  7. SW:202 CW:147 5/10/13 Ht:5'7" I would LOVE to get to 130-135.
  8. Surgery: May 10th SW: 202 CW: 149 Sleeved 4 months ago today. Down 53#, 26 inches. Size 16 to size 8. So happy with my progression!!
  9. SW 202 CW 155 14 weeks post op and Down 47! Started losing lots of hair this week. Luckily I have thick hair and its not noticeable yet, but I'm getting really worried. I just added Biotin. Keeping fingers crossed that it slows down or stops soon! Cruise planned for November. Hope I have hair
  10. 5/10/13. Dr Lopez/Ortiz. MI Dr hospital. Everything went great, no problems. Down 45# in 12 weeks. Very happy!!!!
  11. I was sleeved May 10th (11weeks ago) and my BMI was 31. Started at 202, now 159.4. Goal 130. Down 43 pounds. Just 4 oz. more until I am a NORMAL weight!! I had NUMEROUS people tell me that I didn't need surgery, what did I do that for? I totally agree that it's my business, body, money and time! I am thrilled with results so far!!!
  12. Had my sleeve at MI in May. My hubby slept uncomfortably for 2 nights on a recliner chair. I may have "assumed" he would have a bed, but he didn't. The beds are the Marriott were wonderful. I didn't pay an extra $200 for anything.
  13. Sleeved May 10th. Lost 33 including pre-op. Had low BMI, so my Dr. said my weight loss will be slow. But I'm Very Happy!
  14. Dr. Treen at West Jefferson in Marrero did my husband in November. I think his cash price is about $14K. Insurance covered his surgery, but not mine, so I went to Mexico in May for $4650 plus airfare!!
  15. The original post could have been me writing it! Same EXACT story but I had mine on May 10, 2013. Glad you are doing great. P.S. ditto on the Eduardo comment too (lol)
  16. Sleeved 5/10. Down 25 since pre-op. Definitely at the dreaded 3 week stall! Taking in about 400-600 calories, getting about 60 grams of protein, walking 30 minutes almost every day. Just disappointed I guess. You want to see that scale go DOWN not stay the same day after day
  17. Me, my sister and my sister in law had it done together in Tijuana on May 10th. My hubby came to be our caretaker (he was sleeved in New Orleans in November). My sister and sister in law got $75 or $100 discount because they shared a room. We are constantly talking to each other about things we are experiencing, food etc.
  18. I was sleeved on May 10th. 10 days post op and returned to work today! I am an office manager in a doctors office but I mainly sit down. I can honestly say that I should've waited a couple of more days. I'm tired and my upper back is hurting. I keep taking little walks around the halls. I can't wait to get home to rest!
