  1. Funny I should run across this posting because 2 days ago I had my Will, power of attorney and health directive drawn up. I'm single with no kids and I do have a mother that I handle affairs for however she would not know what to do if something happened to me. It's already bad that I'm not going to tell her about my VSG because I don't want to feel guilty or get talked out of it, but sometimes you just gotta prepare incase something happens but I speak good vibes and blessings to all of us on this board who had the surgery or getting it :-)
  2. So please tell me how was your experience with Dr. Aceves, I'm thinking of going to him if united healthcare starts to trip out (lol)
  3. Oh wow I'm just like you, I'm starting to have second thoughts myself after reading about the leaks, blood clots, gallstones removal all of that. The hardest thing is I really want the surgery however NO ONE in my family or friends want me to get it, I know I'm a grown ass woman however if something happens to me on the table or complications my mother would just die!! I. 41 years old 5'3 and at 260 pounds, I have been heavy ALL of my life. I have tried every diet, every accountability boot camps and diet programs with little to no success. I feel like at this point in my life I just want to be healthy and happy with a new body and a new outlook on life. I'm the kind of person to where if I get something new of value I will do all I can to take care of it, that's how I feel about having a new smaller stomach, I wouldn't abuse it by overeating especially since I won't be able to. I'm having a hard time deciding between Mexico self pay or just have the surgery done here in the states, the thing that gets me with the Mexico self pay is the hard time getting follow up care in the US.
  4. Hello everyone I just want to know if there have been any one from Atlanta Georgia that has went to Mexico to have their VSG surgery and what was your experience, please be honest give me the good, bad and ugly..
  5. How did you get denied? What was the reason?
  6. I just spoke with Nina last week and they still have the in house payment plan. You pay the $500 deposit and $5000 when you get there, you will be billed for the rest at minimum $250 until balance is paid out. They do not use a financing company however you will have to sign a promissory note the day of surgery.

  15. To me it seems as if Dr.Alvarez has a bigger patient base on YouTube and Facebook, I don't see that many patients for Dr. Aceves on YouTube or Facebook. However I do see a lot of dr.Aceves patients on this web forum. I like the fact that you spend 3 days in the hospital and I was told you could stay an extra day at no cost, that says alot :-)
