  1. The dark urine may be a sign of dehydration rather than a UTI. If its painful to urinate or your urine has a pink or red tint to it that may be a UTI
  2. As I prepare for my July surgery date I can't help but wonder if having the surgery helps with saving money. I would think that post surgery the dining out would decrease substantially along with the portion sizes and gas station sodas, etc. Have any of you noticed some cost savings?
  3. I am so glad you asked this question and I'm so excited by the positive/hopeful responses! Thank you!
  4. Your pictures are beautiful! You and your family must be super proud!
  5. Looking awesome! I certainly hope I'll be able to trade my food addiction for a workout addiction as well!
  6. I am glad that you are okay Taylokat! And that you recovered from that scary event.
  7. I love the success stories & you are one heck of a success story! You look great!
  8. Wish I was that lucky. I'm still waiting.... A month later.
  9. I also got "The Big Book on the Gastric Sleeve" by Alex Brecher. I'm on page 300/438! I also read a quick little personal account called "Losing It" by Anne Andrews. It's only 61 pages. Good luck to you and Welcome!
  10. I originally wanted the band as well but after a lot of reading and research the band seemed to have quite a bit of problems (slippage, erosion, ineffectiveness) and not nearly the same weight loss as the sleeve.
  11. I just spoke to a customer service rep with MESSA BCBS and he said that they received my file on May 7th and it is under review. Have any of you went through MESSA? If so, do you remember how long the approval process took? And was it a difficult approval process? I'm just eager and excited to hear back from them. I was really hoping for a June date.
  12. Glad to hear you are on the other side and on your way to a new slimmer & healthier life! Hooray!
  13. Hooray! That's exciting. I can't wait to get my insurance approval...
  14. Me too please. I'll be moving back to the Cleveland area in August. dixonm9@ferris.edu
  15. Hi Friends. My name is Megan and I'm hoping to be sleeved in June. I've completed all the requirements and I'm just waiting for the final insurance approval. My insurance is BCBS through MESSA. I live in Big Rapids and am going through the Spectrum Health Medical Group in Grand Rapids. Nice to meet all of you.
  16. Hi Muneca. I'm in month 4 of my insurance required 6 month medical diet. I'm hoping for a late June surgery date.
  17. I'm going through the same situation. My mother is very anti surgery and she most recently said that if I go through with it she does not want to know. I'm saddened by this as I would like her to be part if my support system pre- and post- surgery. I know and understand the complications with any surgery but I feel as though losing and gaining 60+ pounds on three separate occasions before the age of 30 has its own complications too!
