Hey 50 & over gang We have a new spot
HI, Would love to see photos of your Montana house. Sounds like a major undertaking!! Yeah, gas prices... a nightmare!! What do you think it'll cost us to drive south in the fall with our 75 gallon gas tank???? At about 6-7 mpg!!?? It's making more and more sense to buy something down there!

Go back and get it!! That's not fair!! I know you've been busy with family but we miss you!! Great job on the inches lost! It's probably about time for me to take measurements again. Don't think I've done it since about Dec.!

Janet, What happened???? Did you get a LIFE or something???? It's TOO quiet when you're not here!! I see you're only 5 degrees warmer than us today! Very strange!! I am still enjoying my Wii Fit/Wii Sports, but decided I have to split my sessions in to twice a day instead of trying to do one right after the other. The Wii Fit exercises don't seem particularly strenuous, but I get awfully tired after about 15 minutes!! And sometimes I have to sit down for a few seconds... my knees start to hurt, and some of the exercises actually make me light-headed for a few seconds. Scarey! Mostly the ski jump does that.. you have to go from squating... like you're going off a ski jump, then stand up straight all of a sudden to jump off the end... I crash EVERY time. I have yet to do a successful jump! So, now I have TWO Wii age tests to do each day... the Wii sports and the Wii Fit. We have absolutely not ONE plan for the long holiday weekend. DH says maybe we'll go to a movie. Youngest DD says we can crash their BBQ on Sunday.. for the missions group at their church. Maybe we'll go.

Hey 50 & over gang We have a new spot
Try some liquid Tylenol when you need to take the edge off.

You're doing great, Christy!! I love the potluck story!! I think you're using the wrong code for your ticker. Go back to "edit signature" and try doing a copy/paste on the one that is marked "BBC code". I'm pretty sure that's the one I used and it worked.

Hi, I got my Wii in a local retail store, but I was just at Target and they had a couple on the shelves. And my sister got two at a Buffalo area Target today. The Wii Fit I ordered from Wal-Mart.com. It's $89, the Wii is $249.

Thinking of you as I know this is a difficult time for you! Don't give up on the Wii Fit. They'll probably continue to get more.

All of you school teachers are sure under a lot of stress with this end of the school year stuff! We need to keep you in our thoughts and prayers!! You'll get through it! It'll soon be over and you'll get a break! Hope everyone has a great day! It's another cloudy morning here in the NW. I'm getting used to gray skies!! NO, that's a lie!! I'm not!

Hmmmm.... I've read the book pretty thoroughly, but don't remember if it will give you the calorie count. I figured out how to add the "Wii Fit" Channel to my Wii menu tonight. Then you can check your daily stats without putting the disk in the console. I did set some goals, but it won't let you set your goal at more than about 10% of your body weight. I'm just guessing at that, but it wouldn't let me set it where I wanted. So I just went with the biggest number it would let me for projected weight loss. It's a pretty cool tool!!

Yeah, it's a really neat book. That's a great idea... keep it in the car!! Good to have you back! Sounds like you're doing great!! I don't very often feel thirsty, but that's just me. After exercising I get thirsty, but that's about the only time. So it's had to be a learned discipline for me. I don't set an alarm, but I can see where that would help. I just carry my jug of crystal lite EVERYWHERE!! I think I figured I had about 30 oz of coffee and 30 oz of crystal lite by noon today. Probably about another 40 oz since then and it's only 7 pm. So I"m getting in a lot today. OH..... my Wii FIT came today!! What fun!! We had a blast with it this afternoon for well over an hour. It's great. No more wondering what the scale REALLY says (mine is fluctuating as much as 10 lb every morning). You enter your height and birth date and it tells you how much you weigh and what your BMI is. I didn't try too many of the yoga things because I know I can't do them... standing on one leg, for instance. But I think I tried every exercise in all the other categories. The balance exercises are really fun... slalom skiing... DH tried about 5 times to beat my score and couldn't do it! Then there's a ski jump thing and I couldn't get the timing right on that so I kept crashing. Didn't do too bad on the hula hoop, but found that to be very hard on my knees because of the pivoting. But, all in all, it is really fun and I can do most of the exercises. My Wii Fit age on that today was 75 but I didn't feel bad because DH was 73! You have to stand perfectly balanced for at least 3 seconds to get good points and you'd be amazed how hard that really is. Just breathing in and out is enough to knock you off balance. Since I did that this afternoon, I will go back to my bowling, boxing, golf, etc tonight and see how I do. Jacki, did you order yours??

You've heard about people who have been abducted and had their kidneys removed by black-market organ thieves. My thighs were stolen from me during the night a few years ago. I went to sleep and woke up with someone else's thighs. It was just that quick. The replacements had the texture of cooked oatmeal. Whose thighs were these and what happened to mine? I spent the entire summer looking for my thighs. Finally, hurt and angry, I resigned myself to living out my life in jeans. And then the thieves struck again. My butt was next. I knew it was the same gang, because they took pains to match my new rear-end to the thighs they had stuck me with earlier. But my new butt was attached at least three inches lower than my original! I realized I'd have to give up my jeans in favor of long skirts. Two years ago I realized my arms had been switched. One morning I was fixing my hair and was horrified to see the fle sh of my upper arm swing to and fro with the motion of the hairbrush. This was really getting scary - my body was being replaced one section at a time. What could they do to me next? When my poor neck suddenly disappeared and was replaced with a turkey neck, I decided to tell my story. Women of the world, wake up and smell the coffee! Those 'plastic' surgeons are using REAL replacement body parts -stolen from you and me! The next time someone you know has something 'lifted', look again - was it lifted from you? THIS IS NOT A HOAX. This is happening to women everywhere every night. WARN YOUR FRIENDS! P.S. Last year I thought some one had stolen my Boobs. I was lying in bed and they were gone! But when I jumped out of bed, I was relieved to see that they had just been hiding in my armpits as I slept. Now I keep them hidden in my waistband....

Our bands are SOOOO fickle!! Since my last fill, I've been fairly tight and often unable to eat more than a few bites of my meal, but then I have occasions like you had today when it seems I can eat as much as I want. It's very frustrating. DD invited us over for burgers the other night. (YES, she really did and she is sort of being friendly again.) I ate one whole burger, without the bun, but also a spoonful of beans, potato salad, macaroni salad!! Not good! Then she brought out strawberries and angel food cake for dessert. I took some, but could only eat a couple of bites. That probably contributed to no weight loss this week! I'm doing pretty good on water.... counting about 24-32 oz of crystal lite every day, (I use the Wal-Mart brand... tastes just as good and WAY cheaper at $1.88 a can), and I have about the same amount of coffee every day.

Thanks for all the compliments. Same outfit--- pretty pathetic... not too many clothes that aren't baggy. I need to go shopping. Well, I have been shopping quite a few times. Just can't find anything I like. There is a remnant of tan left! Or else it just converted to rust! We would LOVE to see a photo of your family! Hope you can get them to pose! Those three little ones are such a delight to us!! They're 45 miles away so we don't get to see them as often as I'd like. Now that I have my new laptop, I have a built in webcam, so it's easier to video conference with them. Had to use a clip on one before and it was poor quality and I could never get the sound to work.

BTW..... my mood today...... discouraged!! Scale did NOT move for two weeks in a row! Yet, I seem to be quite tight. But thinking about going for another fill. Could only eat a few bites of my dinner last night... grilled salmon with broccoli and cauliflower. It was a 6 oz piece of salmon and I ate maybe 1-2 oz before I had to send it to the refrigerator leftover stash! I know... I am still at about 5 lb a month, but why does it have to come all at once and then nothing for a few weeks???? Frustrating! OH, well, the trend continues to be DOWN. It's just SO SLOW~~!! I probably would have been down if we hadn't gone out to eat after church yesterday. I had this Mexican prawns dish... pretty healthy, but I had a few chips beforehand, and I ate a little of the rice and beans. So, no one to blame but myself, I guess! I was just so happy that DD actually wanted to go to lunch with us!! We always go to the same place and I almost always order the same thing.- Lucky # Sevens- July 07 Bandsters
You took the words right off MY keyboard... the NUT is a NUT!! Loony Tunes!! Off her rocker! Did anyone see Big Medicine last night??? That one gal had something like 40 lb of skin removed!! Ugh!!- Lucky # Sevens- July 07 Bandsters
Where have you been all weekend??? We had really nice weather for three or four days in a row now!! So we've been outside alot... I've taken some long rides around the neighborhood and down to the lake on my scooter. Even bought some petunias and alyssum at RiteAid today and came home and planted them. This is a little late, but we like to sautee them in a litle EVOO with some onions and garlic... a little Old Bay seasoning is good. They cook real fast... don't overcook or they get tough. If you have the big ones, you can even put them on the grill. I've always wanted to try them on the George Foreman, but DH insists that won't work because they're too big. I'm going to try it sometime when he's not home!! He's such a control freak!!- Hey 50 & over gang We have a new spot
No, he's not joking! It's a very good idea! I did that... bought a small saucer, small bowl, demitasse spoon and small fork. (And a BIG water bottle!) I don't actually use the little spoon and fork anymore, but it was good at first to retrain myself how to eat... small bites, small portions, eat slow. And even though don't use the little tiny fork now, I prefer a small salad fork. As for eating out, I wouldn't worry about what other people think, # 1, but, you probably can leave the baby spoon & fork at home when you go out to eat! :sneaky::biggrin::sad:- Christian bandsters
I did a search and found these directions: From the home page, go to the left side "Lap Band Talk Forum Listing". Under the heading "Basics for Lap Band Surgery Beginners", find "Frequently Asked Questions" then under that CLICK ON "LapBandTalk Forum FAQs". CLICK ON "General Forum Usage". CLICK ON "Adding a Ticker to your signature". CLICK ON "Ticker Tutorial" which is underlined in a sentence near the bottom of the screen.- Lucky # Sevens- July 07 Bandsters
I have my EYEORE socks on today!! TWELVE MILES is very ambitious!! Oh my!! I am having trouble eating today too!! very tight today for some reason. Had an egg and a piece of Sara Lee toast this morning... hard time getting it down. Same with lunch.. small piece of grilled fish (leftovers) and about 1/4 cup of wild rice. DH fixed pork roast w/sauerkraut, roasted potatoes and carrots for dinner and i could only eat a few bites! And I"ve had about a dozen papaya tabs trying to settle my stomach since!! - Lucky # Sevens- July 07 Bandsters
