Hey 50 & over gang We have a new spot
There is a tutorial for the ticker factory site. I can never find it, but Janet knows where it is. Did you go to TickerFactory.com?? YES, YOU CAN DO IT!! That's GREAT!! I passed that mark last month, so I know how good it feels!! Congrats on the gym anniversary!!

crab salad anyone ?
Why not try mixing the crab with some chopped celery, maybe some onion if you like it, or chopped pickles, whatever you like and then a little bit of Fat Free Miracle Whip and a little Tostitos Creamy Spinach Dip. There are several different types of Tostitos Dip that are only like 35 calories for 2 Tbsp... experiment mixing them with different things... tuna, canned chicken, etc. Albertson's has them all on sale this week... Creamy Salsa, Creamy Spinach, Queso, etc.

Yeah, they don't like it much either, but Chris has a good job and it's NOT D.C., so they're coping. Navy's been trying to get him to D.C. for YEARS! Oldest GD adapted too well...I think she's a "Valley Girl" now. She's in to Coach, Juicy, etc. Fortunately has a good job teaching toddler classes, doing birthday parties at a gymnastics studio to finance her newly acquired high classed tastes! Well... I looked for a Smiley to jazz up my post but my Smileys disappeared from my toolbar again!!

Welcome & Congrats! I'm very familiar with Mountain View. Our son stationed there, lives at Moffett. Also, DH's brother lives there. Been there many times. This thread is July 2007 people... We're all about to celebrate our ONE YEAR Bandiversary! There are a few other threads for July 2008 folks. Trust all goes well for you!

So sorry to hear that, Candice. It's got to be her decision. My Mom just turned 86. She had 4X Bypass 5 years ago (in Buffalo), on Valentine's Day! It was a very tough recovery period including about a month in a rehab center. Fortunately, one where my youngest sister works, so she got really good care, lots of attention. My uncle (Dear old Uncle Ed) came close to getting tossed out on his ear more than once, but even he survived. Very difficult surgery at that age. Love on her & see that she's kept comfortable & happy. Nothing more you can do.

starting BMI over 50? come on in!
Thanks, Michele! I am so much enjoying buying smaller clothes, not worrying about sitting in chairs with arms, going up stairs without huffing and puffing, finding too much room between me and the steering wheel, Etc, Etc, Etc... I could go on and on!! I have a long way to go, but it already feels SO GOOD!!:thumbup::thumbup::thumbup::thumbup::thumbup::thumbup:

Hey 50 & over gang We have a new spot
Almost got stuck on chicken tonight. Had to stop after 2-2 1/2 oz. Cut it up really small, ate slow, chewed it to death. Still got that telltale chest pain. I have my one year follow-up on 7/16, and maybe a slight tweak.

So sorry you can't make it to the M of A! Next year... Vegas, Baby! Thanks so much... the tops should fit just right! Glad you're having a nice birthday! And we're all glad your leg is better!! I'm going to look at your web page as soon as I finish this. That's what I'm trying to do.... be imaginative! I think five days worth of clothes should do it. Can do laundry at my sisters. We'll be gone a total of almost 3 weeks! I almost go stuck on chicken again today... skinless, boneless chicken thighs, BBQed on the grill, cut up in little tiny bites and chewed like crazy and still got that pain in my chest. DH weighed 4 oz for me and I think I gave him 1 1/2 oz back again, maybe 2. Knew better than try to eat any more. Had steamed broccoli/caulifower/carrots/squash with it. Lots of good suggestions! I LOVE hot dogs.

I used to add a little sugar free raspberry DaVinci syrup.... the kind they use to make latte's. Very good in a chocolate protein drink.

Good point! I'll keep that in mind!:thumbup::smile2: We took two boxes of baggy clothes to the Good Will store today and I found three pairs of pants, like new, 24 petite. Jeans need another few pounds gone, navy twill/rayon slacks, same size... fit nice. A year ago 30/32.

You gals don't get it.... I was just packing in my HEAD!!

Lucky # Sevens- July 07 Bandsters
Actually, I'm plotting and planning in my head as to how to keep it to an absolute minimum since we'll be hauling all our stuff through a few train terminals. So I've been thinking about how little I can get away with bringing, how small of a suitcase can I bring, etc!

Good PEP TALK!! Boy! We miss you when you're gone! Needed to hear all that stuff! Will you bribe me with some wine?? You got that right!! It's pretty annoying!! I love those yellow, red & orange peppers... $2 each, or more!! Even the green peppers are outrageous. Strawberries... finally sort of reasonable. Even a head of lettuce... terrible! Prices getting worse every day! Yep! The healthier the meat/fish, the more expensive it is! We are fortunate to have three different grocery stores in the neighborhood, so we study the ads every Tuesday when they come out and I ride around on my scooter and get the sale items. Those peppers... one of the three stores has them 2 for $3 just about every week. DH was celebrating finding a head of lettuce for 58 cents the other day! TOPS weigh in today & I was up 1/2 lb. It's okay.. still down 6 lb for the month of June. And, it's been over 90 degrees here for several days & that always makes me retain fluid. Next week we switch to a new digital scale. We've been weighing on the old & the new for three weeks now & the new is 1 1/2 lb heavier, so everyone has to lose 1 1/2 lb this week just to stay even! And with July 4th weekend, that will be a challenge for everyone, including me!! BBQ at DD's on Friday & another at church on Sunday... may skip that one. I can't resist the hot dogs and potato salad. Then Monday, after weigh in, our CA RV park WA state reunion... a potluck, of course!! Yikes! Have to put on my armour and read Janet's "just say no" post over & over for the next week! I'm going in for 1 year follow-up and probably a slight fill on 7/16.. a week before we leave on our train trip to M of A & parts East. Restriction is pretty good, but I'd like to be a little big tighter.

11 Mos Post-Op- Hey 50 & over gang We have a new spot
Average rule of thumb is about 60 Gm protein a day. If you're not getting tht, there's some flavorless, sugar free Whey protein powder you can buy to add to things like your applesauce, tomato soup, etc. to ramp up your protein intake a little if you find it's low. The kind I got did not effect the taste of what I was eating/drinking at all. Sliming= hmmm.... kind of indescribable, actually. Your band decides you've eaten too fast, too much, etc. and starts producing an extra amount of saliva type stuff... only thicker, and it just sort of comes up. Only happened to me twice. The first time it came by surprise and it so totally freaked out my DH that i started laughing! He was not amused. Second time I made it to the BR okay!- New 60+ Thread
That's good! Yeah, I don't think it's too uncommon for one to work it's way out like that. But I freaked a little bit when I saw mine, too. Glad you got it taken care of. - Before and After Lap Band Surgery - PICTURES ONLY
