  1. I have always loved sweets, chocolate is my thing & after the sleeve it still is, it's never made me sick so I have to make sure I do my part & try to stay away from it but it didn't get any easier after the sleeve.

    400's 300's

My highest weight was 404. When I started my liquid diet I was 357, 7 months after surgery I'm 260. It's been a great experience.
  3. Congratulations! You're doing great!
  4. My highest weight was 404, I'm 5' 8" I lost some weight over the years. My weight when I started my pre-op diet on 4/4/13 was 357. I am now 287 & I just went to Chicago & I had the vacation I wouldn't have been able to have a year ago. Lots of walking, a speedboat ride, shopping. I still have a long way to go but my life has already improved!

    To easy

I was sleeved on April 18th & other than a nearly full body rash a few days after surgery I didn't have any complications, haven't had any bad reactions to foods, nausea, vomiting, etc...knock on wood.
  6. My average is 2 - 3 pounds a week which is what i was told to expect. It's hard because every time I've tried to lose weight I've just wanted to wake up skinny the next day but that's not realistic.

    I need help!

I hope she will eventually be able to be sleeved. Its a setback but hopefully it's treatable.

    I need help!

I wasn't able to be sleeved the first time around either, for me it was pretty minor. I had gall stones in one of my ducts that the surgeon couldn't get out & i needed to have an ERCP which requires tools that go through the stomach into the intestines to get to that duct from the other end. My stomach would have been too swollen to get the scope through had they done the sleeve. Hopefully it's something like that with your mom. I had done a 2 week liquid diet before the procedure, it was a bummer to do that for nothing!

    strawberries

Do you remember if they told you not to have anything with seeds? I was sleeved 4/18 & I'm still not supposed to have anything with seeds but every doctor is different.
  11. I had type 2 diabetes which I was already on metformin for. I have not taken it since my surgery. I'm not sure if this is what you're referring to.
  12. I'm 9 weeks out & have not had anything I would consider to be a complication. Very little pain, no nausea, I've never vomited & I haven't had any problems with anything I've eaten, I've followed my doctor's plan so I haven't had pasta or rice or red meat which have been known to be more difficult to digest.

    Honestly..

Mine was gross, I had to take several sips then a big drink of it.
  14. Mine was just left open, I was told it would close within 24 hours & it did.

    2 week liquid diet

Find a protein powder that you like now rather than when you start.

    When we're old...

Well, with this surgery we have a better chance if getting old...
  17. I can't say that I was always 100% comfortable but I was never in enough pain to need pain meds.

    Dumb question

I make a scrambled egg with a scoop of cottage cheese instead of a splash of milk, it's very good.
  19. Amazing! I am also starting as a pear shape & I'm thrilled that you have such slender hips

    Seeking support

Does your hospital have a support group? I have to drive an hour & 20 minutes to get to my hospital & the support group & it's worth the drive.
