  1. Hi Fellow Christians! I was so happy to find this thread. I am going to be banded tomorrow - November 30th at 9:30 a.m. I have been very uneasy about this whole thing but feel much better reading the wise words other Christians have written in this thread. Please pray and send positive thoughts my way. I know I am in God's hands and he will take care of me. Someone said to me the other day..."If God led you to it, he'll see you through it." I hope this thread continues. It's great to hear other Christians' perspectives on things. Thank You and God Bless all of us. Regards, Deb
  2. Hi! I also have a mesh across my abdomen due to a hernia repair. My surgeon said that the surgery will probably take a little longer but it is not a big problem. I also talked to my other surgeon who did my hernia repair and he said that the mesh should not cause big problems. He said something about they can cut right through the mesh if necessary. I am scheduled to be banded on November 30th. Deb
  3. :clap2:You look so terrific! You are an inspiration to me. I am not yet banded but hope to be soon. Congrats on your remarkable transformation. Good luck on whatever surgery you plan next. Regards, Deb
  4. So sorry about your misfortune. How did you get MRSA? Was it related to the band? Very Scary! Deb
  5. Hi Everyone! I am not yet banded, but have my first appointment with my surgeon on June 28th. I'd love to hear from anyone in RI who has had this surgery. My surgeon is Dr. Pohl. I would appreciate any feedback on him or any advice about what to expect. I am excited about starting out on this journey to a new life, but also frightened. I would love to hear from others in RI since I don't know of anyone else considering or who has had this lap band surgery. Thank you in advance and looking forward to hearing from you. Deb
  6. Hi deanna, Thank you for the info on Dr. Pohl. Good luck with your journey also. Deb
  7. Hi Everyone! I am wondering if anyone from Rhode Island has been banded, and by whom? I will be seeing Dr. Dieter Phol on June 28th for my first appointment. His office is located in Johnston, RI. Has anyone heard of him or used him? He does the surgery at Roger Williams General Hospital in Providence. He has a great reputation from what I hear. He also did the seminar that I attended in April and I was impressed with his overall demeanor. Hope to hear from someone in RI soon. Thanks, Deb
