  1. I'm almost 24 hours post op and I'm not in any pain! The gas is subsiding. I'm just a Lil sore and achy. Hope all my other Sleeve Sisters are recovering well!
  2. Thanks everyone!! Will do!!
  3. I'm up getting ready to go to hospital. I'm not nervous I'm actually pretty calm. This seems so surreal. Time has really flown by. I started this process in January and now it's go time!! I am so thankful I found this forum! Your stories and testimonies have really been my inspiration and have kept me sane when I became overwhelmed. I feel like my expectations are realistic and I have a great support team. What more can I ask for?!! ; ) So let my journey begin...
  4. Yes I did too. Printed out articles explaining the difference and so on. And shes a nurse so she fully comprehends it. But she's just not with it! I know she'll be ok but to see her cry tonite truly broke my heart.
  5. I have surgery in the morning and my mom is a nervous wreck!! I started not to tell her at all because my niece is very bad off from a gastric bypass and in her head they are one in the same. I know what I'm doing is best for me but I feel so bad putting her thru this. She has had everyone in our family calling me trying to talk me out of it. I know she just wants me to be ok but this is stressing me OUT!! I can't wait til morning!
  6. I'm tomorrow at 9 am. I know how u feel. So ready to get this started!! Good luck see u on the skinny side! ; )
  7. My surgery is at 9 I have to be there at 7:30. I think I'm more excited to be put to sleep! LOL Especially since I haven't been able to at all this week! So consumed with making sure everything and everyone is in order. I want them to be self sufficient while I recover. Good luck Paula see you on the other side ! ; )
  8. Naturally_bad I found them! I went to a different Walmart. So I'm all set now! Just have to finish cleaning and getting my kids school stuff ready for the week. I'm scared and excited all at the same time!! ; )
  9. I just left Walmart looking for the strips too!! My surgery is Monday and I'm trying to proactive on all the things I need for home. ; )
  10. I feel your pain. I have to do 10 day pre op and I'm 2 days in and I'm dying to eat a buffalo wing!!! My family had Chinese tonite and I just took my pudding and went in my room. I was thinking just like you like maybe this isn't for me. But then I envisioned my post op self with killer stilettos on and I know I'm making the right decision. ; ) We can do this!! You have to work for what you want and that's never easy. Why would this b any different?! Stay strong it's worth it! (As I chomp on a celery stick) LOL
  11. Jessica I read your post and had to get out bed to get on my computer to tell you I was in the same place you were 3 months ago. I am 5'7 350 lbs and my hubby is 5'10 190 lbs all muscle!! He works out everyday he transforming into Mr. Universe right in front of my eyes!! We have been married for 14 years and I have always been heavy. In my head I was HOT in my size 26 jeans if not HOTTER than the skinny minnie in her size 2. But than I started to let small things get the best of me and before I knew my self esteem plummeted. I let myself go and stopped getting my hair and nails done. My wardrobe consisted of sweats and old scrub uniforms. But the icing on the cake was when I went to volunteer at my son's school and one of his classmates said my arms looked like Wreck It Ralph!! I was done!! Stick a fork in me!! I always listen to music to make me feel better so I decided to listen to gospel that day because I knew only the Lord could lift me. And I am a witness that he did!! In one of the lyrics to a song that came on it said "how can you expect someone to love you more than you love yourself?" which made me realize I stopped loving me. I had given up on me and that wasn't fair to me or my husband or my kids because they needed me more now than ever. So I started making plans to loose weight. WLS wasn't an option because my insurance didn't cover it. Then within a week after my decision I got an email stating that our insurance would cover WLS!! I did research, started praying and slowly started letting bad habits fall to the wayside. Now 3 months later and 10 lbs lighter I start my preop diet tomorrow and my true journey begins 4/29/13, I'm not sure what your faith is but I am a believer that a true success story starts from within your soul. Find yourself again and what makes you happy. As a mother and a wife we tend to get lost in the madness and don't know how to get out!! Your hubby loved and still loves you as a person. The kids and the extra pounds are just more of you for him to love. Stay strong! We are sisters in this journey and we can do it!!
  12. I've been cleaning and organizing. I just bought small 1/2 cup and cup sized containers to store my food in. I've also been having my "last meals" of my favorites. Although I know technically this isn't forever it's still a process to say goodbye to my safety net and BFF since I was 5, food.
  13. Did you try baby gas drops or Gas-x? My friend who is 2 weeks post op said this worked wonders for her. Good luck!
  14. I'm April 29th. Just came from having my EGD
