Help--Work Lunch at Chinese Restaurant!
My office is having a working lunch today at a Chinese restaurant. I’m almost 5 weeks out from my VSG and trying desperately to figure out what I can eat there. (My doctor's plan allows me to try everything except raw veggies at this point.) All my Chinese favorites (except the luscious green beans) are fried, so I haven’t paid a lot of attention to what else is on the menu. By the way, I’ve eaten beef, chicken, and pork with no problems—in fact, nothing I’ve tried has bothered me at all. I know I can look over the buffet and see what looks like plain chicken, etc., and get that and steamed veggies. But I'd prefer to order from the menu so I can take the leftovers home instead of paying full buffet price for the 2 oz of chicken I would eat (you can't take home leftovers from the buffet). Anyone know the names of Chinese meals that are more VSG-friendly so I can order from the menu? This would be easier if I wasn't a cheapskate! Thanks, Jane

Need help with My Fitness Pal
I'm new to both MFP and using a tablet, having just gotten it last week when my laptop died. I've been loving both until this morning when I clicked on the MFP app and it said it couldn't synchronize because I had no internet connection. Well, obviously I do because I was able to access this site by typing it into my browser. But everything is running very slow this morning when it's just been zipping along until now. I've loaded a few apps, but not many so I dont think that should be the problem. I don't know if I'm neglecting to shut down programs when I turn off the tablet (because I can't find a way to do so)! Can anybody help? By the way, my tablet is a Samsung Galaxy, 16 GB. Thanks in advance.

Premier Protein Drinks Review - Chocolate
My local Sam's sells the bars and shakes and I love the bars! They're too many calories for me right now but I think the vanilla yogurt flavor is wonderful.

Unjury Chicken Soup Question
Turned out great! Thanks for the tips. I'm on day 4 since my surgery so everything is still new for me. I enjoyed Knorr's bouillon cubes when I was on clear liquids.

Unjury Chicken Soup Question
Thanks so much! Going to try it now--will use water from the Keurig, but think I'll have to let it cool a bit. I'll report back afterward.

Unjury Chicken Soup Question
This product is so highly recommended. I just got two sample packs and don't want to mess them up--do you mix the chicken Soup with Water or milk? I tried the strawberry yesterday with water and it was horrible--mixed the other one with milk and it was much better, so I thought I'd ask so I didn't waste one of my chicken Soups. Thanks in advance, Jane

Pre-Op Caffeine Question
I normally have one cup before I leave home and one more during the morning at work. I overslept and didn't get any one morning and didn't notice anything until around 1:30 that afternoon when it was all I could do to sit up! I remembered that I had no coffee that norming but didn't have any headache issues, so I think that may not be a problem. That's why I thought it wouldn't matter for the 2 weeks I won't be working after surgery. On the other hand, I do understand that I must follow all the rules afterward! I know someone who had a leak and she's just able to go back to work now 6 weeks post-op. I definitely don't plan to rush anything that could affect my recovery!

Pre-Op Caffeine Question
Someone tell me if my thinking on this is skewed. My pre-op diet says to start weaning yourself off caffeine, but I wonder if that's necessary. I understand that I can't have it post-op because it irritates the stomach, but since the diet list says "start weaning yourself off" I can't see any reason I can't continue to have it until the day before. My reasoning is that with my desk job, if I'm caffeine free, I nearly fall out of my chair in the afternoons! And after surgery I'll be at home recuperating for 2 weeks, so what does it matter if I'm sleepy then. Please tell me if I'm wrong here, and if so, why. Thanks, Jane

Funderthings - shopping for lingerie becomes fun!
Oh, what fun to look forward to! I'm in wait mode for insurance approval and my bras are SOOOOOOOOOOOO worn out--but I'm refusing to buy any more in this size! I'd love to fit in something pretty and have it look good!

Cigna
My info was submitted to Cigna today--I'm so excited! I've certainly jumped through all the hoops I could find to jump through, starting my physician monitoring in November 2012--my last PCP appointment was Monday of this week. My PCP did mention that Cigna is a bear to deal with, but my daughter and sister-in-law were both approved by Cigna, although through different policies, so I have hope.

Any June sleevers out there ?
I'm sure hoping to be! I have my last PCP visit on May 13, so then the paperwork will be submitted for insurance approval. I would have loved to have my surgery on May 31--just a superstitious thing because my daughter was sleeved on May 31 two years ago and has done wonderfully well.
