1. I had really bad gas pain, too (was banded 5/29). Walking definitely helped! Hang in there!
  2. I was banded 5/29 and I ate tomato soup today with no problem (sipping slowly, of course). I also added parmesan cheese (2grams/tbsp) and 2 tbsp of nonfat dry milk (1gram) to beef up the protein; it made it taste like cream of tomato. It was really tasty and didn't give me any GI problems at all!

I purchased "Any Whey" online and it really is flavorless and is undetectable to me, so far. It blends right into my smoothies and I have used it in thinned lowfat pudding, too. It has a very fine consistency and mixes instantly. I'm 5 days post-op and it has really boosted my protein counts for each day. 17 grams/scoopful. I use it half-strength (1/2 scoop) in 8 oz skim milk as a base for my smoothies. As a change of pace, I occasionally use a tablespoon or two of lowfat dry milk in the smoothies base but the Any Whey is what really ratchets up the protein for me.
  4.
Deb and I both had surgery 5/29. I'm having more and more hunger, too. Today I had to superwhip some lowfat cottage cheese with canned pears, Any Whey protein powder, and milk to make a thickened slurry that finally satisfied my hunger. The yogurt smoothies weren't quite holding me all the time. Didn't have a problem drinking it, just sipped it over span of time. Can't wait to advance the diet in the hopes I'll feel less hungry!
