  1. Hello All.... My name is Belinda and I started this process in March 2013. Just got my call on Friday and my surgery date is December 26th at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center in Bethesda Maryland. Couldn't ask for a better Christmas gift and way to start out a new year. I'm currently 5'2" weighing 205 lbs I have High BP, diabetes, sleep apnea, high triglycerides and hope the surgery will resolve these issues.
  2. Take a deep breath and pray. You will be fine! I wish it was me. I have to wait till Dec or Jan. I have had to deal with diabetes for three years now and it's still not under control. So glad you can have the surgery before the diabetes set in. I'm praying for a speedy recovery for you!
  3. These are the recommendations for the 2 week pre-op diet (800 calorie) from the program that I'm in: 1. 4 1/2 cans of High Protein Slim Fast daily OR 2. 5 1/2 packets of "No Sugar Added" Carnation Instant Breakfast Drink mixed with fat free or 1% milk daily OR 3. 5 Individual cartons of Adkins Advantage daily OR 4. 4 1/2 bottles of "Glucose Controlled" Boost Daily You must meet the recommended protein amount of 60 grams per day. You will also be able to include Water, Crystal Light, decaf tea, sugar free Gelatin or sugar free popsicles in addition to the 800 calorie in full liquids.
