  1. Okay-- So I know this silly to be thinking about but I thought I would ask anyway... I just got my tentative surgery date for May 8. That's fantastic--just 2 weeks from today. The surgery is my priority, however, I have tickets to a concert for my favorite band of all time (Toad the Wet Sprocket) for May 11. I already know it's likely impossible to think about going, but I guess I just wanted you guys to confirm it. The concert is at a small theatre venue with seats. They rarely ever come to my area (Nashville) and don't tour much. Is there any chance at all I will feel like going? Were most of you guys still on pain meds on day three? Thanks for the input!
  2. I was first dx with migraines at age 6 so I have been dealing with this for a very long time. The only thing that helps me is Relpax. It only helps if I take it immediately upon feeling that first twinge or having the first visual aura. If I take it too late, the only thing I can do is take a prescription pain med and go to sleep in a completely quiet, dark room. Talk to your dr. about the newer prescription meds as there are several to try. Keep trying til you find the one that works for you. Good Luck.
  3. It's good to know my anxiety is somewhat normal! Thanks!
  4. I am having the same feelings. I don't have a surgery date yet, but I just got approved and the anxiety hit me. Good Luck!
  5. I was so excited about the thought of surgery. I have researched for years and was comfortable with my decision. Then, I got approved. It became so real (I was somewhat doubtful I would get approved) and I am so anxious all of the sudden. I don't think I am nervous about the actual procedure (my husband is a dr. and I have a lot of faith in modern medicine), but I am scared of the major changes I know are coming in my life. I do not know anyone who has had weight loss surgery to talk with. I am going to my first support group this week, so I am sure that will be helpful as well. Thanks for letting me vent....I think it is somewhat therapeutic just to type out my worries!
  6. Just thought I would say hello. I am in Murfreesboro too. This is my first post. I am very early into the process, and honestly am not sure whether I will get approved by my insurance or not. I'm keeping my fingers crossed. I am also going to MTMC, but haven't met with a specific Dr. yet. Dr. Eckles did my initial seminar. I am doing my psych and attending support meeting next week. Have had a physical and am waiting on labs and letter to be sent to insurance company. That's about it. It's good to know there are people nearby that have gone through this process!
