  1. I keep having this dream that after surgery I find out I have cancer in what is left of my stomach and thy have to remove the rest. I wonder if that is even possible. I will have to look it up. Am I the only one that has dreams about things like this?
  2. Doctor scheduled without final approval. Thanks you made me feel better and I also talked to my husband, he said he can cancel his days off I'd he needs to and will just need a few weeks in advance to request at another time.
  3. So my date is 5/22 but I am not done my last step (final nut appt.) until May 8, and then they can submit to insurance. I have a 38ish BMI, severe sleep apnea (have a CPAP), high cholesterol, high triglycerides and a fatty liver. I have BCBS Anthem of CA. My husband already took a week and a half off work for the surgery because we have 2 little ones. I am so nervous that I will get denied and my husband will have this time off. My doctor seems to think it won't be a problem but reading on here makes me think most people get denied at first. Anyone else dealing with the same thing?
  4. This is making me so scared! I have struggled with my weight for over 20 years. I have sleep apnea, high cholesterol, high triglycerides. I have gained and lost 50lbs or more at least 10 times! I just pray everything will be okay!
  5. I like Unjury Chocolate Splendor and syntax nectar.
  6. I didn't like the vanilla unjury but the chocolate is really good. Not just really good for a protein shake. Really good in general.
  7. Chocolate Splendor from Unjury is amazingly good! Tastes just like chocolate milk.
  8. This scares me too! I have to do Optifast which is 4 shakes and either a broth or a bar for 6 days and 1 day clear liquids. We will survive! Good luck!
  9. I will try it! I have heard that the cake batter flavor is really good but read in here that it wasn't good for post op. Thanks!
  10. I thought I read Muscle Milk has too many carbs. I will check it out!
  11. Every Pre op doctors appointment/test I have had the nurses feel the need to convince me that I don't need surgery. I even had one call me "little" today. It always makes me feel awkward. I don't know how to respond and don't feel I have to explain myself. So annoying. One actually asked me how my husband felt and I said he is coming around. She said he doesn't want you to change. I said he doesn't have to worry about me cheating I am not interested in anyone else. She then says you will change your mind when you have a new body! Wtf!
  12. I just gotta nectar and unjury samples! I quickly made a fuzzy navel nectar drink and it is delish! So excited to have different options.
  13. Thanks everyone! I know I have to do it and I will just asking for some help. I have been playing around and found a few things that aren't half bad. Waiting for my sample packs to try new things! Thanks again!
  14. Thank you! I have read premade are better. I am doing powder now.
  15. I am trying a few different kinds so I will be prepared. Surgery May 22nd. It is horrible and really making me afraid I won't be able to get them down.
  16. Anyone have BCBS Anthem and get denied? I have almost 38 BMI, severe obstructive sleep apnea, high cholesterol (on meds), very high triglycerides, thyroid issues and fatty liver. My doc thinks I wi be good and so do I but I have read so many horror stories.
  17. My doc is having me do 6 days optifast and 1 day clear liquid before surgery. Any advice on best tasting flavor, permafrost or power and bars? Also where did you purchase? It actually looks like my doctors office is cheaper than online.
  18. I asked my nut about it and she said they say not to use it is because you can easily take too big of a sip with a straw.
  19. Just got my date today May 22nd! Yay!
  20. Anyone else May 22nd? It is so real now!
  21. What county? I live in Salem County.
  22. I am early in the process still but this is such a crazy emotional journey! I went to my first appointment with the surgeon at the end of February and so far have had 1 sleep study, 1 nut appointment, blood work (9 vials), upper gi/barium swallow, ultrasound, psychiatric evaluation and information session! I have done all of this still with the fear that I may not be approved! I have struggled with my weight for 20 years (and I am 33). I have lost and gained so many times over those years I am surprised that my body has survived! I have never had a problem losing it just doesn't stay off and when it comes back it usually comes back with some extra "friends" (more pounds). Right now I am 245lbs (5'7" tall) with a BMI of just under 40. I found out I do have sleep apnea and will be going for my second study next week. I am a mixture of emotions. I want this surgery! I NEED THIS SURGERY! I am sick of being fat. I am sick of not having enough energy to play with my kids. I am sick of constantly thinking and worrying about my weight! I have a few more steps, last one being my final nut appointment on May 21st and they we will submit to insurance! Fingers crossed! I love this board it has given me so much knowledge on what to expect! Look forward to sharing my journey with all of you!
  23. I think you have to be out of work 4 or 6 weeks to get disability. I don't think you can collect disability for 1.5 weeks. I would just use my vacation time if I had it.
  24. This is my first of 3 appointments. Yay!
  25. For some reason I am picturing myself in a bra and panties getting my picture taken and my kids haven't given me 5 seconds alone to shave my legs! LOL!
