feb 2013 sleevers weigh in
Mee too I lost 10 lbs the first week post op surgery. It is now 3 weeks and the scale has not not moved at all. I'm getting so discouraged seeing the high numbers everyone else is losing.

I am looking for people who live in Arizona. I would like to get a group of ladies together so that we can get together and go out and celebrate our WLS anniversaries.

Congratulations Athena!. I know it's tough right now and it will be tough for the next few weeks not being able to eat real food. Yes, it will all be worth it when you are able to fit into the cute clothes.

Central Texas-need Doctor/hospital for self pay
Brenda, I do not know of anyone in Central Texas but I would highly recommend Dr. Almanza in Tijuana, Mexico. I was sleeved on 2-28-13 and there were several people from Texas getting the surgery as well. Matter of fact, there were people from all over the U.S. He only charges 4750.00 and has done hundreds of surgeries. He and his staff are all very professional. I am not associated with him nor do I work for him. I just took a chance based on all the reviews I read only and flew to Tijuana. It is one of the best decisions I have ever made in my life.

15 Days out and I've only lost 10lbs.
OK so I haven't used the scale since I posted this thread. Thank you all for your encouragement. I am thankful that I have lost some weight. I realize I have to give my body time to adjust. I guess it doesn't really know what's going on right now. I would rather slowly lose 2lbs a month consistently than continue to gain 2lbs a year. I am gaining my confidence back. I feel it. My ex used to call me fat ass and would tell me no one was going to date me when I gained weight. 3 years ago I was 130lbs and (not to toot my own horn) very attractive. Then the weight gain and along with the weight gain, depression, hormone imbalance, severe acne and no energy. I started to hate shopping for clothes and became irritable with friends who invited me to the mall. I stopped dating and going out with friends. It's really sad how gaining weight can affect your self esteem, health and relationships. My kids were very happy for me when I decided to get sleeved. I couldn't tell anyone else because of fear of criticism. My ex told me the other day that my face is getting skinny and asked if I am working out. I told him yes. I think he felt threatened that I am on my way to getting back to the old me because apparently he went and got himself a membership to the gym. Again thank you all for your words of encouragement. Only people who have been where I am at understand what I am talking about.

15 Days out and I've only lost 10lbs.
My pre-op weight was 183. I didn't do the pre-op diet. I wasn't disciplined enough to even do a pre-op diet. I had my surgery on 2-28-13. I am now 173. I am 5'2". My goal weight is 125lbs. Although I am not hungry, I am craving everything. I have found that just smelling or licking the food will take that craving away. Is it normal that my weight loss is slow? I thought I should have lost more by now.
