  1. Everyone has an opinion !!! Be true to yourself and follow your heart. NO ONE in my family agreed with me .... And I even had surgery in Mexico. Well, I have learned that some family members can be very toxic to me and kill my spirit, at 42 I decided to live life for me. In my family I was either too fat and got comments on it , and if I lost weight I got criticized for that to. So .... I decided .... **** em and did what I wanted , just asked them to send prayers my way , but didn't ask for their approval - even told them that I didn't want to hear anything from them, just that I needed to let them know out of love and respect. Good luck honey, no one knows how painful it is being overweight if they have never walked this road. I had gotten to the point where I didn't want to live if I had to live with my extra 80 pounds ..... So for me ... Surgery was my last option .... I was done with the emotional pain I had for over 30 years. Now, I am 5 weeks post op, and my family RARELY talks about the fact I had surgery ..... It's fine by me- I am spending this time learning how to live my life and getting some space from toxic people and situations (which I used to eat over ) Good luck to you - follow your heart and be true to yourself- ❤
  2. Just wanted to hear from others who are farther along and have found a way to live this lifestyle, had weight loss success and don't "diet" Or .... Is that a JOKE ?

But after reading the threads, I see people who loose sooooo much more than me - like 30 - 35 pounds .... I am afraid to weigh, i am 5 weeks post op .... And don't want to get depressed .... My food is at least 60 gm Protein ... 800 cal Help!

  10. Hi .... I am looking for this member... But don't know how to reach her .... Are you out there ?
  11. Ok, down 18 pounds first 3 weeks post op. week 4 started to add "regular food" Now I am up 1 pound .... For week 4 ..... I was on a trip. Ate yogurt , Protein drinks , cottage cheese .... At dinner had maybe 3 bites of a meatball 2 bites of salad, 1 bite of Pasta ... Another dinner, has LESS than 1 cheese taco w/ corn tortilla .... Another carpaccio (thin raw beef with lettuce ). ... I had 1 scoop of ice cream ... That's it ... During the week for sweets , no Bread etc... I thought with such a small amount of food and such a small tummy and appetite , regular food would be okay for me to eat ... I have spent 30 years yo young, counting calories and carbs and binging and crash dieting. I really thought that this was going to be some how a little different .... I see here that so many people eat regular food and are happy and successful , what have I done wrong ? It has been only 1 week of real food and I gained !!! Please help .... But no shark attacks please.... I'm not up to it .... Constructive loving advice completely welcome -
  12. Did you work out like and woman with weights ?
  13. How did you do it .... Kill yourself working out with weights ? Any chance some people might not get the Loose skin problem ? Just can't imagine having to get a surgery to remove it all when the time comes ... Trying to avoid it. Anyone with experience here ?
  14. Hi I'm just concerned that I am on the right track . I'm down 18 pounds in the past. 3 weeks since my surgery .... Here is my average day : 8 am Protein drink 10 chobani yogurt 1 pm 1/2 can tuna w/ light mayo ... 5 ritz crackers 4 pm cottage cheese ( small on the go size) 6:30 ... Maybe 2 oz fish, 3 pieces of broccoli , few bites of Soup. Usually before dinner I haven't even had 500 calories... But I never count my dinner calories - as I eat out a lot, and frankly don't feel like obsessing over it ... But I feel like since I only eat a few bites at dinner I am probably okay .... What do you all think ? I am saposed to move on to solids now, but I am frankly scared to eat different foods because they may make me feel sick etc... So I tend to be sticking to shakes, yogurt, Soups, fish .... Did have my first bites of salad last night ... It was good ! How long can I got eating the same "safe" foods though ? I would live to try ground beef for example ... But feel apprehensive or like I may gain weight if I like it too much. Anyone else go through this in the beginning .... How did you became a more normal eater ? Responses welcome from any one ????
