  1. ncdimps I will be at the Marriott Monday April 8th (sometime in the evening), I arrive in San Diego at 6pm and will come directly to the hotel... I have surgery on the 9th, so we maybe we will see each other!!! I will be recovering back at the hotel on the 11th-12th and going home on the 13th
  2. yes, I got a call back from my coordinator the same day I requested more info... and from there it is pretty quick (approval is usually in a day or two) depending on you and if you have a passport etc... if no passport you will have to allow at least 3 weeks to get that and they want you to have 2 weeks of a diet that helps to shrink your liver to aid in ease of surgery, so you could pick a date 2 weeks from your approval if you have a passport or 3-4 weeks if you still need it! Hope this helps!
  3. Got you guys invited, check your email for the invite!
  4. I am going to TJ on the 8th for surgery on the 9th, staying at the Mariott and going through Dr. Lopez-Ortega and Ortiz at MiHospital... Was hoping to find some others, same day/hotel???
  5. could you post your experiance? I am scheduled with Dr. Lopez in 2 weeks and would love to hear about your experiance!!! If you don't feel comfortable posting on the forum could you private message me please???
  6. I think you just edit your ticker?? I'm not sure, cuz I haven't needed to yet! It automatically counts down to the surgery day...
  7. Got you Britbrit check your email. Also anyone else that hasn't sent me your email please do so and I will get you added to the group! Almost at 30 members!
  8. Amanda Rae I have been silently reading your posts and comments on others posts and just want to say thank you! You are always so sweet and uplifting, I can't wait to hear about your entire experiance! I am going with Dr. Lopez in TJ... 2 weeks 5 days to go
  9. The pictures are great! It makes it seem that much more "real", keep us updated!!
  10. I'm gonna rock it in my 30's, the twenties may be gone, but my 30's and so on are going to be awesome, and that is the thought that keeps my head up!
  11. Jesser I am the same way But, no more... My surgery is in 3 weeks, and I will FINALLY get me life back! I have dealt with not feeling adequate and hating the way I feel and look for 11 years, I've had it. I'm done feeling this way and I am going to rock the sleeve baby!!! You to, so buy clothes too small and watch them fall off, lol
  12. yes, don't want to wait forever and jump through never ending hoops, and I will have to pay roughly the same amount overall through my insurance as I will for self-pay in Mexico... I've done my research and am completely confident with my decision to do this... Also I have sent my insurance carrier an email asking about the post-op complications coverage, thanks for all the help guys!
  13. which insurance company do you have if you don't mind my asking, and how did you find out they would cover complications?
  14. no, my insurance does cover WLS but I am not using them to have it done. So, my question is for anyone that has had complications that chose to selfpay (even with insurance, that would cover it) and whether the insurance would cover complications if the original surgery was not done through insurance coverage.
  15. Just had a thought. If I am self paying in Mexico to have the VSG, and when I get home I have any post-op complications, will my insurance cover me???
  16. @sweatee, I sent you a message, I need your personal email to add you to the group! please get back to me!
  17. I agree with the others, you are probably dehydrated, and your body has a way of holding onto water weight even when you are dehydrated, so I wouldn't worry about the "only 4 pounds", just drink! If you can not tolerate plain water, drink flavored water (crystal light for example)! I am a nurse and dizziness is your body telling you it needs water!!!!
  18. Hey guys, I have a FB group for Mexico Sleevers to post concerns, fears, excitment and questions! if you are interested in joining let me know! It is a secret group so no one can see it or the posts unless they are invited by me! send me a PM with your personal email address and I will get you added! So far we have 14 members and many more have been invited, would love to get even more-- the more input, the better!
  19. I am using dr. Lopez Ortega as well, if you decide to go with someone else, please let me know, I would love to hear what made you change your mind!
  20. I also am glad you posted, the "everything was wonderful" experiances are great too, but lets be realistic... I am a nurse and I know that even in the BEST hospitals not everyone has a great experiance, it all depends on the people you are stuck with. It sounds like you got the crap crew, lol. I am going there in 3 weeks, and I BETTER be taken care of, cuz I am not shy and WILL cause a scene if I am not... lol, being a nurse I know what kind of care I should and will receive. I am sorry you went through that!
  21. RIP Fred, I didn't know you but hopefully we will meet one day in God's kingdom! Prayers are with your friends and family in this time of sorrow...
  22. thank you!!! I am using alighterme as well, my coordinator is Rhonda, and I am using Dr. Lopez/Ortiz so hearing about your experiance has really been great!!!!!
  23. @mmlucas77 and karen12345 send me your email addresses and I will ad you to our group! It is 100% private.
