  1. Yes, its free and open. No hassle. There is a phone in your room. You give them the phone number and they connect you. OAN: My doctor called my family for me immediately after surgery.
  2. I can assure you, it is human nature to report negativity way before something positive. I have come across a lot of different experiences on this forum. Maybe you were never faced with having to make the decision to have surgery in Mexico, some of us did have to consider this option and were very happy with our results. This person wanted to share her experience, HER experience as she keeps trying to say. We all support others going to Mexico because we know first hand that the care is excellent and the surgeons are very experienced. Please remember, often your opinion is only as valid as your situation allows it to be.
  3. I went with Dr. Garcia after watching his videos, asking previous patients. I was sleeved on March 29 and so happy with my results, the team and coordinators! Everyone was so great. I felt comfortable and well cared for the entire time, which was great because I went alone
  4. Happy you had a good experience :-)
  5. Hi, I went through Ready 4 A Change with Dr. Fernando Garcia. The cost was $4,700 with a $500 deposit. I flew American which was $472 (I booked late) I would suggest bringing an extra $50-$100 in small bills for tipping, or shopping. Personally, I didn't feel much like shopping. Good luck to you. If I can help you further PM me or comment.
  6. Have you asked your doctor about something to help your energy level? I know sometimes they suggest B Vitamins to help. Hope things get better
  7. Great no complications, and loving the weight loss!!!! How are you coming along Amanda?
  8. This is not the case for ALL doctors or coordinators. I've gotten crap hospital service in the US, and botched surgeries that I paid way more than 5,000 for!
  9. Hey! I'm 5'7" Sleeved: March 29, 2013 Between the pre op diet and surgery.Down 23 pounds in 2 weeks!
  10. I had my leak tests and x rays done at Florence. I did not go anywhere else.
  11. I am 11 days out and feeling fine. No complications what so ever.
  12. I found some yummy protein shake recipes at www.bariatricfoodie.com I was having a tough time with the ones I had before. These are so good. Just wanted to share! I just may make my protein quota for the FIRST tome today :-)
  13. So nice to read your post!!! You better keep on touch. You were great company!!!
  14. He does one while you're under, and two after. You drink a clear liquid and then a blue one. You also have x-rays that you take home
  15. I went to Mexico for experience, but when I researched doctors in the US as a second choice I found the most reasonable price with Dr. Thomas Borland in New Iberia, LA. His site tells you the cost and where your money is going. I think he may be worth looking into. Here is the site www.thomasborlandmd.com I've heard nothing but great things and he is 9,800. Best of luck
  16. How are you guys making your protein shakes? I just can't get a good recipe and my doctor insists I should try incorporating them now. I hate the taste. Any suggestions would be great. I'm getting to the point where I'm just going to buy protein shots.
  17. Nice to see a post from you Deborah. Hope all is well with you and your beautiful family! One week baby!! Wooo hooo!
  18. There is a Louisiana forum that discusses this in detail. There were several different prices quoted from a bunch of doctors here.
