  1. I'm going to assume that I will be able to take and use my cpap machine while in the hospital? I know they will be waking me up every little bit and I probably won't sleep good anyway, but I just can't sleep without my machine anymore!!
  2. I have my first appt with the surgeon on Wednesday. I have over 200 lbs to lose and it just seems like SUCH a long way to go! I have always been overweight, but I've gained over 100 lbs in the last 5 years since my son was born. I had gotten down to about 275 after I had him and then I got the Mirena IUD and I'm not blaming that exclusively, but I feel that it didn't help from the things I've read about it. I'm anxious to start this part of my life for myself, my son and my family. I can't go into a store right now and buy clothes. I have to order online. My first goal will be to go into a store and buy an outfit that I didn't have to order online! My second goal will be to be able to put my socks and shoes on without a struggle. I guess I'm just rambling on and on, but I feel so blessed to have found this forum!!!
  3. Thanks so much! At the meeting, they said they keep you at least 2 days. I only stayed in the hospital 2 days after having my c-section and looking back, should have stayed the extra night!!
  4. I am so glad I found this post!! I went to the informational meeting last week and go to the surgeon Wednesday. I know he does a 2 week pre op liquid diet and it's so reassuring to me to hear thoughts like my own. Not that you guys are having them, but that I'm not alone in having them and that there IS help and support!! I've cut down on soda since I went to the meeting, trying to get more water in. But I just keep thinking in the back of my head, EAT WHAT YOU CAN NOW!!! So far, I've done ok with not overdoing it because I've got to do a 3 month Dr supervised diet for my insurance to approve me. This forum I think is going to save my life!!!!
  5. Did you have to do the Dr supervised diet? That's all that I'm worried about!
  6. They told me that WW was acceptable as well, but I had to have to detailed descriptions from them on diet plans we discussed and what exercise options was discussed. I am going to go through my surgeon and the nutritionist they use for 3 months. The lady told me that they were VERY specific on what they will accept and I was afraid they wouldn't accept the WW.
  7. I have Cigna and they are requiring 3 months Dr supervised diet within the past 12 months and WW, Jenny Craig, Nutrisystem and things like that are included.
  8. My name is Dana and I've been to my informational meeting and have my first appt with the surgeon next week. I've been doing TONS of research and reading posts and know more about my insurance company than I want to ever know!!! I'm leaning towards having the sleeve vs the bybass at this point, but that may change. I know every hospital and surgeons are different, but was just wondering about what I would need at the hospital? I know it's a long way off, but I like to be prepared!! Should I even worry with my own gowns? Robes? I hope to become a fixture on these message boards as I'm very determined to take back my life through this!!
