I am starting to really get nervous. Tomorrow I start the liquid diet. I am a ball of nerves. The date is almost here!! I'm trying to occupy myself with other things not to focus too much on the "surgery" but it's not working :/ We are sleeve sisters. Lol

I have Empire BC/BS and my surgeon's office submitted the paperwork on 7/19 or 7/22 and I got my approval today!! Hope all who are waiting on that approval call/letter get it soon!!

JUST GOT THE BEST NEWS EVER!!!!! A P P R O V E D !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Aug 1st I get sleeved and start my new life!! My hands are shaking!! I can't believe it's happening!!!!!

Hello beautiful sleevers! My surgery date is scheduled for Aug 1st. Still waiting for ins approval tho!! Some have mentioned "food funerals" and I've lol because THATS what I've been having lately. Gotta say there have been a lot of food funerals for me. Tomorrow starts the liquid diet. Even though My doctor advised the liquid diet three days prior, I want to start now because I feel I'm going to struggle with this!! I am, however, sooooo EXCITED and ready to start this new chapter. I've joined a gym for their Zumba classes and will be doing that at least 4x a week with light weight training!! I've bought GNC LEAN Protein powder!! Some yogurt and lots of Water. Have to stock up on that chicken broth and sugar free jello!! I'm hoping I can do this part. Anyone have other suggestions for this liquid diet??

I HOPE IT DOESN'T TAKE LONG BECAUSE MY SURGERY DATE IS AUG 1 and MY PAPERWORK IS BEING SUBMITTED TWO WEEKS BEFORE!! I JUST WANT TO DO THIS. I DONT WANT IT TO BE PROLONGED. ( PLEASE FORGIVE THE CAPS IT'S JUST A BAD HABIT, I'M NOT YELLING. LOL)

Ok, so I've done ALL my testings and my doctor sent in his 6notes as required. I'm having pre surgical testing on 7/18 and my doctor should be submitting my medical clearance Letter to my surgeons office on 7/19. This then has to be sent to my ins co for approval!! WHY AM I ANXIOUS? My surgery date was changed from Aug 5 to Aug 1 and I haven't gotten ins approval. Do you think I have enough time? I don't want to wait any longer. I want to get this done in Aug 1 or else is have to wait until mid to end of aug because my doctor will be on vac week of 8/5 which is why it was changed. I'm losing my mind!!

I have BC/BA Empire. The requirements for me were 6 mos visits with my PCP w/weighing and weight loss options discussed for each visit. You have to have a bmi of 40 and over or 35 and over with a co morbidity. If you go on the website look under policy # SURG.00024. It will explain I'm detail. I've done all they required. I'm waiting for approval and so far have a tentative date of Aug 1. GOOD LUCK!!!! ????????

I totally agree. My last 6 mo appt is Monday July8 with my PCP and my surgeons appt is July 12. I have a tentative surgery date of Aug 5 and I hope and pray my insurance BCBS *** NY approves. That has been keeping me up at night.

Yes he's really thorough. I wish he didn't as I'm always afraid that the more tests can actually bring about an issue but at the same time I get to check things I normally wouldn't. So hopefully all goes well!!

Yes my doctor requires an abdominal pelvic ultrasound. I don't have my gallbladder but they look for any abnormalities in the gallbladder, fibroids etc. anything that might cause a complication for surgery
