  1. I went to another surgeon today for a second opinion. It's like night and day from my previous surgeon. I am having my lapband and plication removed and getting sleeved on March 7th. I am only required to go to the education class next week and do the preop diet for one week. The surgeon stated that he also thinks my body is rejecting the lapband. He also said I will be much happier with the sleeve. I am so glad I don't have to go through two surgeries just to get a revision to sleeve.
  2. My insurance has an exclusion for any type of WLS. I am seeing a different surgeon next week as my current surgeon doesn't want to really bother with you after he has made his money.
  3. I saw my surgeon today and my body is apparently rejecting my lapband. That is what's causing my pain. I am waiting to hear about a date for removal. BUT I cannot do the sleeve in the same surgery. Since I had the plication with my lapband it has to be removed and the staples from the plication taken out first. Then my stomach has to heal for 2-3 months before they will do the sleeve. The surgeon stated that doing them both at the same time is asking for trouble with leaks. I asked him since I have only had the surgery 6 months ago is it that big of a deal and he said yes. Even if it was only a week. Anyone else heard of this?
  4. Anyone have an estimate of the cost for band to sleeve revision. I went through Dr. Wilkenfeld at True Results in Houston for my band and am going to talk to him tomorrow about revision. I am self pay.
  5. Congrats! I wish mine was coming out already. Appointment with my surgeon on Monday.
  6. Thanks! I hope it goes well. I cant see why he wont agree especially since I am self pay and wont have to go through the insurance process.
  7. I was banded with plication in August 2012. I have had two fills so far. I have not lost any weight since November. I follow my diet, exercise etc. Now I am having pain in my stomach and left side around to my back. It gets worse when I eat. I went throught Dr. Wilkenfeld in Conroe and am finding out that he doesn't really care about you after your surgery. Is it too soon to consider another surgeon and possibly a revision to sleeve? Will another surgeon even see me? I wish I knew what I know now about him before using him and having the lapband. He talked me out of the sleeve and I wish I had just changed doctor's then.
