  1. Surgery was great but while in the pre op I passed out(embarrassing). I have no pain at all in the abdominal area. The gas pain is wicked at times but walking & heat pad do the trick! I sleep soooo much!!
  2. While on my pre surgery diet my husband, who is an excellent cook, found low carb meals to make for both of us. They were delicious. My pre diet was less than 40g of carbs. He lost 7 lbs the first week and i lost 15 in my 2 weeks. Search the internet for the foods you guys like cuz there ie almost always a healthy version that tastes great (even for desserts).
  3. cant sleep cuz I'm excited!! Decided to lay down on my back to see how boobs interfere with a stomach surgery. I better call a head to make sure they are stocked up on tape & bungy cords!! Things I wont miss.....big boobs
  4. Sorry??? I woke up to read this on my surgery day....I have been giggling all morning!!! Thanks for lightening up my morning you guys
  5. Boobs!!! What could they possibly do to them????? I don't even wanna know!! Actually, you've got me curious, I will be asking afterwards now.hahaha
  6. My surgery is tomorrow morning and until today I had all the same fears. I spent hours researching complications making myself aware. I finally came up with this..... do as my doctor instructs me and I will be fine And sometimes complications just happen due to nothing you or your surgeon did. If a complication does happen it sounds like its a rough recovery but in the end you will meet your goal. TO BE HEALTHY
  7. Surgery check in time is 630am tomorrow, I'm packed, showered, shaved (story I read here about showing up to surgery with hairy legs n pits really stuck in my mind), anti nausea patch in place, biggest looser picture taken aka:sports bra & bike shorts, & bags packed. Not nervous anymore, now my focus is on being all layed out on the table in front of strangers with my belly all exposed. No one has seen my arms since the mid 90's let alone my belly!!! Knock me out and get this done!!!!
  8. I am worried that I may get a leak because when I sneeze I can feel it in my gut. Its a huge, spray out my mouth sneeze. Also, if you vomit alot after surgery are you a risk of a leak? I talked to my surgeon about leaks but the only thing we really covered was what would happen with a leak..... what things would cause a leak?
  9. How long does the gas pain last? Are you guys still dealing with it when you go home or is it basically the day of surgery? One other question.... if you throw up can that screw up the new seal on your stomach and cause a possible leak? My surgery is 2/21. I started my diet yesterday of 40 carbs or less.
  10. Ok.....so stupid question.... when you guys talk about gas pains do you mean you burp to relieve the pain or the other end? This makes me nervous!!!!
  11. 4my2boys- glad to hear everything went well! Thanks for the small pillow tip. Throwing up after surgery is my second biggest fear....right after being put under. Any other tips would be appreciated for us still on the pre surgery side.
  12. So excited for you. Jealous that you are cool as a cucumber cuz i am still a few weeks out and pretty nervous.... keep us updated. Good luck today!!!

  14. I have done a ton of research on this surgery and feel it is pretty darn safe as far as surgeries go. I am not nervous about the actual surgery or the life changes after surgery but every time I think about surgery I start to get nervous.... I am afraid to be put under. I have never had surgery. My husband and son say it seems like you are out for 5 mins.
  15. I am scheduled for Feb 21st. Had my final appointment today where I learned everything there is to know about vitamins and protein. I cant wait to be able to do things that my friends do and not be physically un comfortable. Keeping that in my mind makes the fear of surgery go away. I learned to focus on the positive outcome vs my fear of surgery. So excited!!
  16. What I won't miss... Having to stitch my pants every month cuz my thighs rubbed yet another hole in them Not having any room in the bath tub My double chin 3 blood pressure medications lop sided bows on my shoes Having to ask my husband to paint my toes cuz i can't reach Old people clothes having my best friend have to go into lane bryant so i can get jumbo size panties after getting her sexy panties from Victoria secrets wearing plain white thick strapped bras to hold up DDD's Honestly I could go on forever.....
