  1. I would be happy to help.
  2. What do you need me to do?
  3. Wow....all that sounds really good right about now! Did you have to puree the food or did you just eat it as you described?
  4. I go to my Nut tomorrow for my 2 week post op appt. I am supposed to be able to start pureed foods this week as well. I am sure she will give me some ideas/recipes but I am anxious to know what types of food I will be able to eat. Are there any forums for sharing recipes or meal ideas??? Down 17 lbs since surgery May 6th and 27 lbs since pre op diet!!!!!

  6. I am on day number 8 of my pre-op diet and have cheated 6 of those days!!! Today I even had 2 pieces of fried flounder and fried squash. I did do shakes for breakfast and dinner but my husband wanted to take me out one last time before my surgery on Monday. I've also eaten Mexican one night as my "light dinner". I ate the fajita chicken and veggies. I am planning on gearing things up these last four days though and staying on track. I have still managed to lose 10 lbs which is what my surgeon asked of me. Has anyone else had trouble staying on track during pre-op diet? I just keep thinking "well it's my last chance to eat this".

  8. I learn something new every time I log on to this forum! I am scheduled for May 6th and I am having the same feelings!!! We will be just fine and then even better!
  9. Thanks for the info. I just ordered Nectar sample pack, starting preop diet next week! Surgery is May 6th!
  10. Congratulations! My surgery is May 6th, keep us posted on how it goes please!
  11. Thanks everyone for the feedback!!
  12. My surgery date is May 6th and I will be going on vacation the first week in July. I will have approximately 8 weeks recovery time. I'm going to the beach with my family, wondering what restrictions there may be and what my nutrition program will be?????
  13. Surgery APPROVED!!!!!!!!! :D :D
  14. My surgeon did a peer to peer review today and the insurance company still denied me. My coordinator told me that my physician did not write the exact words "cleared for bariatric surgery" and that 's why I'm being denied! So now I have to appeal it myself and either have my physician who by the way is on maternity leave now redo the physical or have another Dr. do it. I just can't believe I have gone through all I have to be denied because of something so trivial! My insurance co. sure as hell didn't have a problem with me being put to sleep for an endoscopy that's costing me $1200!!! Should I even go through with the appeal or just give up???????
  15. Ok, so I received a letter of denial on March 1st for my surgery! My surgeon's office said not to worry the insurance co. was just "knit picking". After submitting another letter the insurance co. denied again saying they didn't have what they needed. I tried calling pre-certification myself to find out what's going on but they told me to have my physician call!!! At this point after 2 denials I'm not sure if they are going to approve it or not. I did EVERYTHING I was suppose to. I have thousands of dollars in medical bills already in order to have this operation. Has anyone ever had this happen to them???? By the way I have Cigna Ins.
  16. I had to see a nutritionist, psychologist, primary for a detailed physical with tons of lab work. I also had to have a sleep apnea study and an endoscopy. The good news is after all that I have met my deductible so the surgery itself shouldn't cost me much!
  17. Thank you! This is what is happening to me. My primary had to say/write the actual words "cleared for surgery"! Thanks.
  18. My surgeon's office called last week to tell me my insurance co. wanted additional information from my primary doctor. Today I got a letter from my insurance co. saying that they were not approving the surgery because it was not deemed medically necessary and that information was not provided by primary physician. I have not spoken with my surgeon's office yet but based on opinions is this a final decision or will the insurance co. change once they get the info from my primary??? Freaking out here!!! I have ran up so many medical bills in order to be cleared for this surgery!!

  20. Hello everyone, I am new to the site. I am in the process of having all my medical needs done in order to have the Gastric Sleeve Surgery. All I have left to do is my sleep study which is this Friday and I am waiting for an appt. for my endoscopy. Then I guess they will submit everything to my ins. co. I have Great West-Cigna and have followed everything to a T in order to be approved. What are the chances they deny me for some reason??? I would be so upset!! I am so ready to have a new beginning!!
