  4. Hey Miss Lady, I do understand how you feel. sometimes you have just gotta let it out. I am a nurse to by the way. You are right when you say it is an emotional; roller coaster, but you have to do what you feel is right for you. I have come to find out that everybody is not going to be as supportive as we would like to be or if they even support us at all. Fortunately I was prepared to do this basically along and I prayed real hard and fast for the Lord to be by my side as I embark on this journey. And you know what some wonderful things have happen, The few people I have told have been very supportive, people you I thought wouldn't understand but they do and I am grateful. Of course I spoke to my children first and they wanted to know WHY WHY MOM you don't need to do that you look fine. Ahhhh but what looks good on the outside is not always how it is on the inside, so I began to explain my reasons for wanting to do it, my daughter after a lengthy decision she understood and was encouraging, my son however was not easily moved by the surgery or my reasons for it. But we talked some more about it, he still doesn't want me to do but he is supportive none the less. You look like you are a praying woman, and I would say to you, don't worry about things that have not happen, he is always there to help us and put things in perspective, as you walk this journey of weight loss through sx allow him to lead and guide you. Those things you think you don't have strength enough to resist allow the Lord to take over that burden for you. Those things you can control do so and those that you can't allow the Lord to take care of it for you. He wants that we be happy and healthy and if we trust and believe he will take control and help use through. This is a good forum you have come to wil people understanding what you are dealing with. I just hope and pray that my words have brought you some comfort. If you ever want to need feel free to contact me.....Prayer for you my pre-sleeved sister.....
  5. Firelle I know right. Don't know what my docs put in the package to the insurance company, but they sent my approval letter stating it was medical neccessary for me to have the sleeve and gave me a 5 day hospital stay
  6. I received a letter also from my insurance company with the wrong date I spoke with the surgeons office and they told me they had to give a tentative to the insurance company but they will or already have changed it and I should expect another letter with the correct date. You were only approved for a 1 day stay, I got approved for 5 not sure how but very glad just in case i need more than a couple. The other good thing is I am 400 dollars from meeting my deductible, isn't that lovely...yes yes yes
  7. Try some sugar free gum to take care of that chewing urge.
  8. Evening Nuff, Ihave some suggestions for you, first increase your water intake, get you some mint tea nice and hot with fresh lemon juice and honey, that should help clear you up. Also I have a recipe for chicken soup that will help clear you up. I know you are on all liquids so you will have to give the chicken to someone else but here goes: Get you about 5-6 chicken wings, in pot with 4 cups of water, 2 packs of sazon seasoning, i half onion chopped and 2 or 3 celery stalks, some fresh ground pepper, let it cook till chicken falls off the bone and have at it. This will also work for your puree phase also. Try those things and let me know how you feel after wards.... Praying for you....
  9. Thats great Sass I have a Sleeve buddy.......
  10. Kari you are so right, when we decide to make a change, we gotta stick with it and go thru it. This is one of the biggest decisions I have had to make also basically on my own and I know I have made the right decision. I have a son 23 and he is not really feeling this sx, but I had to explain to him that this is gonna be better for me healthwise. I think he is just upset because I am gonna look even more younger than him than I do now....lol Everybody thinks I am his sister when we are out somewhere together....lol or they think we dating....lol

  14. Evening all, My name is Felicia and I am a LPN currently in the process of enrolling in RN school. I have worked in med-surg, rehab and currently the Medical Manager at a correction Facility. My new life begins on Feb 19th,@ 6:30 am in Lexington, KY St. Joseph East Women's Hospital with Dr. Steiner... It has been five long years trying to decide on WLS, but I finally made up my mind. The band wasn't an option for me nor the RNY. So when the sleeve came on the scene I started to give it some serious thought, and that is what brings me here today. Hello to my sister nurses.
  15. Hey all getting sleeved in Lexington KY St Joseph Hospital East with Dr. Steiner on Feb 19th, sure would be nice to have someone to talk with and exercise with sometimes, any takers......Please

  18. from my understanding this are made with a collagen based protein which is not absorbed by the body. Even the ones that say Whey Protein has that collagen in it. There is a great post I believe in food and recipes regarding shot, take a look at it very helpful and good info there.
  19. Sheesh Ms Anti-band I was hoping the sleeve would improve my spelling I guess not....lol
  20. You know I do feel for you,. First thing if you are not required to answer your emails from work I would stop. You are home recovering and having to deal the silly people I wouldn't answer a one. Second, they may be some jealousy there on there part and that is their problem not yours. The one thing I have learned over the years of being overweight is you can't change people their character nor their attitude, the only thing you can change it you and yours. This is the time for you to focus on you and be happy that you now have a new lease on life and enjoy it to the fullest. Also since it is not a requirement to put in a collection box for the office (at least I hope it is not) I wouldn't do it anymore. When work is over your stuff up and say goodnight and head on out the door and enjoy your life. they owe you nothing and you for dog on sure don't owe them a thing. What am I am saying: Julianna DO YOU, they don't matter, remember this is all about YOU....I hope I said something to help you on your wonderful journey of weight loss.....BIG SMILES GIRL YOU ON THE LOSER BENCH AND THINGS ONLY GET BETTER FROM HERE.........................
  21. Very wonderful and helpful information for this pre-sleeve Diva. Thanks bunches
