  1. What a great list! I know my list is similar to yours especially the item about the plane. I flew to africa a few years ago and the seat was uncomfortable and dug into my leg. I felt sorry for the person sitting next to me because I hogged the armrest meant for her. I will be excited when i lose all that weight and take another mission trip to africa and be comfortable. Good luck on reaching all those goals. When we dream big, amazing things happen!
  2. Today starts the process in my new journey. Many discussions with my husband has lead up to this point and now it's time to either get the ball rolling or lay it to rest. Well tonight I started the process and went to a seminar about gastric surgery. My first appointment to see the doctor is on January 29th and I am getting excited and nervous all at the same time. My goal is to have my blood drawn that same day and try to get the other appointments rolling from there also. I know that this is not a fast process and it will take time, but based on the time frame he gave us, I am going to estimate surgery to be around July!!! Postive's about that month would be that it will be hot during that time and well, I would rather stay indoors anyway so what a better way to recover then in my air conditioned home. I have never blogged before, but looking forward to writing about my experiences through this process. Praying that all goes well while each step leads me closer to a healthier me!!
  3. Thanks! I had my first seminar tonight and it was very informative. I see the doctor on the 29th and that really starts everything. Excited for the new changes that are to come!
  4. I have struggled for many years with the Gastric Bypass Surgery. Should I get it? Should I not get it? Should I just try another diet and fail? Being over weight has been a constant companion my entire life. As I grew up I would weigh myself thinking ok I weigh 160 lbs., I won't ever reach 165, if I reach 165, then I will work out more and watch what I eat. Next thing I knew I was 170, so I would play the compromise game once again. OK 180, I promise myself I will never reach 180, I just won't allow it... Well after several deals that I could not even keep with myself I am now 260 pounds. I am miserable, my back and knees hurt constantly! My entire family is obese and I just figured that was the cards that I had drawn in life and so that is what I will have to deal with. I have done a lot of research regarding the many types of surgery out there and have decded for myself that the Gastric Sleeve is the best match for me. I am excited to get things started and will be going to a Seminar tonight. My first appointment is on January 29th where I will meet with my doctor. I know that this is not a fast process and have read several other posts stating just that, so I am not in a real big hurry to get the surgery, but I am in a hurry to feel better physically and emotionally about myself. I don't blame anyone for the size I am or the reason how I got this way.
