Sunny112

I woke up yesterday morning covered in hives from head to foot! I took Benadryl all day and the hives went away on the surface. Now my joints are swollen and I'm so stiff I can hardly move. I'm retaining Fluid and ache all over. I was banded almost 3 weeks ago and have done fairly well with only the normal gas issues until now. Is it possible to be allergic to the band material? Has anyone else experienced this? Any helpful advice? Thanks! :help:

I went on vacation 4 weeks after being banded. I was really nervous but everything worked out well. I asked at restaurants to have whatever I ordered pureed. Everyone was great about it and no one asked any questions. I was only able to eat a small amount but that was fine. I kept plenty of bottled water and Crystal Light in the hotel room and used the 42 gram New Whey liquid protein which I mixed in a bottle of water. Everything went much easier than I had anticipated. I wouldn't postpone your surgery. Like jfran said, it's time to start living! Good luck and let us know what you decide!

I was banded about 6 weeks ago by Dr Johnell. He is extremely knowledgable and a fine surgeon. I can't say enough good things about his staff. Everyone has been so friendly, helpful and all are well versed about what they are doing. I had some concern about NCMC prior to my surgery because of a previous bad experience. However, I have to say that this time was completely different. I could not have asked for more competent friendly treatment. I would highly recommend Dr. Johnell and his staff and NCMC. Are you scheduled for surgery yet? Good luck and keep us updated on your progress!

I still have "gas" pain in my shoulder nearly everyday after having surgery on May 24th. There doesn't seem to be any pattern to when it happens. It has happened on a full stomach, empty stomach, or after having had only water. Gas-X strips help some but doesn't completely control it. Has anyone else had this for this long after surgery? Any ideas on what to do?

I was banded last Thursday (24th). I gained 5 pounds in one day while I was in the hospital. I'm following the diet carefully but still haven't lost any weight. Is that normal?

:confused::)DynamoMini.....I would love to check out the website for weight loss after 50. How do I get to it? I just went for my 1 week post op visit today & I'm down 7 lbs! I'm so thrilled!. I know it will slow down but it's sure nice to get this little jump start. Looks like you're losing REALLY well! How was the first fill? Did you have any problems? Does it feel alot different after the fill? As you can tell, I'm really excited about this and really appreciate all the advice I can get! Keep up the good work!:clap2:
