  1. Awesome job!!! You look amazing!!
  2. Because the sleeve is permanent there will be no more more yo-yo dieting. It's a permanent life change. I'm 40 yrs old and I have 3 daughters and WLS has been the best decision I have made. You know it's the right decision but you have to get there mentally and emotionally. Find a support group in your area, so you can see the success. I missed out on a lot with my daughters. Best of luck!!
  3. My hubby wasn't supportive and found everything negative he could find to persuade me not to have the surgery. Little did he know that I had did research for over a year and for every negative I had 3 positives. It came down to this is my body and my life this is my surgery date. I knew this was what I wanted and was determined to have the VSG. he is more supportive since I didn't die on the table or have any complications. I'm 2 1/2 mths post op down 60 lbs, of blood pressure meds and I feel great. Best of luck!!
  4. I am a very private person and I don't base my decisions on other people's opinions but I was amazed at how many people I knew had already had WLS. I did tell my immediate family but not until a week before. Now that I'm 2 1/2 months post of and down 56 lbs. with no complications I'm proud to say I've had WLS. I love this blog, there is a lot of good info and lots of amazing people.
  5. I was sleeved by Dr. Hargroder on November 19, at woman's hospital. Dr. Hargroder is extremely personable, very informative, answered all of my questions, then my hubby had additional questions so he met with us again. The whole experience from his staff, to the bariatric coordinator at woman's to the dietician were all super people to deal with. I did lots of research on the doctors in my area before I decided on Dr. Hargroder. I have coronary artery disease and I had an emergency triple bypass in April 2011. I was 38 years old with no family history of heart disease. Because of this my cardiologist had to be on board, and he was. My point is I put a lot of effort into finding a doctor without 1 negative review. When I called to make my appointment, I gave the receptionist my name and DOB and come to find out it was one of my best friends from kindergarten. I was private pay but I don't remember exactly what I paid because I got a discount from my friend and my cardiologist did my EKG and all of the labs and X-rays. My 17 year old daughter had some questions as well. She came with me to meet with the surgery coordinator and the dietician. They explained everything to her and answered all of her questions. They made her feel very included in this journey. She makes sure I get all of my Water and Protein in too. Honestly I can't say enough positive things about my experience. If you want to send me a private message I would be glad to give you as much info as I can. Good luck!!
