  2. I'm a RN haven't had vsg yet. But i know a couple of nurses that returned in two weeks we work 10 hr shifts same day surgery dept

  4. I was told that alot of water aerobic exercises or swimming and high collagen products to moisturize will minimize loose skin. Has anyone been successful using this technique? If not what has worked for you?

Well said clk I'm from a family of obesity i have sleep apnea and hypertension, my brother with congestive heart failure, diabetes and hypertension,my sister dx with type 2 diabetes last year and it goes on and on, I felt that I needed to act on this weight problem because I am so afraid of getting the diabetes and the heart failure dx

Its natural to feel that way,I'm 5'2 weigh 220 and people around me ask "why do you need surgery you're not big enough" and 6 months ago i really tried to lose the weight made it to 208 lbs frustrated and disgusted that I've gained back, I've lost weight numerous times gained back plus more my highest weight is 235, on cpap and taking high blood pressure medications, I'm doing this for my health i don't think I'll regret it , my surgery is in April, I plan to research up to the day of the procedure. I'll also watch for other responses on this subject

  11. congrats, wishing you much success with the sleeve. I thought about getting the lap band in the beginning but there are so many discussions about the negatives of lap banding, that's why i chose the sleeve.
  12. Congrats and good luck. I'm an April sleever also, I'm excited! VSG Vanderbilt Medical Ctr Dr Willie Melvin. There's really good info on this sight that has helped me make final decisions and plans. I have found answers to questions that I've had about complications, leakage, hair loss, etc. I've learned a lot of things that I didn't know at first. I'm looking forward to this life changing event. April is not coming fast enough because I can't wait to get off these medications and this sleep apnea machine

Thanks to all for your participation on this site, I had alot of concerns in the beginning about the negatives of wls, I've been viewing the pages of this forum for about 6 months and found the answer to all of my questions in reference to leakage, hair loss, diet, loose skin etc. it has actually relieved the anxiety that i was experiencing associated with having the surgery and has helped me feel more confident to discuss my decisions with my family and friends.
